$X of the application fee is for Visa, and $Y (I think $250 of it) is for CCbill's handling/processing/whatever. Trust that if the $750 went straight into CCbill (and the other IPSP's) pockets that webmasters would still be kicking and screaming to this day. :1orglaugh http://www.bet.com/images/smallbarker/50cent_sb.jpg - Fifty. |

I'm all for losing the $750 if you can't cut it in this business. I think we're all at a consensus that I can't. So, I don't mind losing the $750 under those conditions. What I DO mind is CCBill not being able to refund the $$ when the application goes into limbo and never gets processed OR when it gets declined and I'm never informed. Granted, doing so would be fraud and I doubt CCBill needs $750 from fraud. However the possibility of getting screwed like that still exists. |

They are very fair and $750 is a fair cost for applying. |

Give it a month or so before you start accussing them of keeping your money indefinitely. If you no longer want your application to be processed it would probably be wise to tell them that now.... but my bet is then you'll be accepted :1orglaugh |

None of this matters really.
The only thing that matters is what percentage of the application fee is refundable upon being declined - if any. |

But if it is in perpetual processing, then you get your $$ back (this is what i was told by them) but they can't tell you when. This equates to a real possibility of them never refunding the $$ and a wonderful legal loophole that allows them to do so. I don't think they should refund $$ when the application is processed. But keeping me hanging on a thread and not being able to tell me when they will refund if VISA never responds is cheesy. |
After reading the epoch law suit I think if you were just starting and choose not to use Visa it wouldnt make that big of difference. Almost half of epochs business is thru MC, so if its that way for them chances are its the same for all of them and if you have a visa in your pocket chances are you have MC. Now if you have rebills its a different story you can walk away. This business is alot of work 7 days a week for the most part.A quote a boss once said to me once would you rather have all the free time in the world and not a nickle to go out or have only three hours a week free but $500 in your pocket to play.

But whatever.. this thread doesn't exist to me anymore :1orglaugh |

But they are fair in all OTHER respects and the $750 should not be refunded if it is actually processed. |

As an attempt to eliminate some confusion over this issue, I will try and explain the registration process.
First of all, this whole process was mandated by Visa U.S.A. Second, CCBill controls only a small part of the whole process. We gather the necessary information and payment and submit it. At that point we are at the mercy of Visa's approval process. We have asked them to standardize this procedure for the very fact we are debating here on this board today. Sometimes they come back in 3 days, sometimes 3 weeks. But eventually, they all come back. Our business model is based upon helping webmasters run successful sites. From a business standpoint, do you really think stealing a registration fee from someone is good business practice? What if this person was going to process 100,000 a week, would it have been worth $750? What I was trying to explain in my earlier post is that once it is submitted and received by Visa, it is very difficult to convince them not to bill us! Therefore, please contact me directly and we will see what we can do for you. Trust me, CCbill has no interest in continuing any sort of business relationship with you or your company. Or you can stay here on this board and keep calling us thiefs. Either way, I am going home soon and will sleep easy knowing that I have done what I can to help you. The rest is up to you. 45471840 [email protected] |
Corvett is the IPSP forum king! :thumbsup

Ok heres what gets me about this whole thing and I cant believe I'm the only one wondering about this.
Dude sends his 750 in, CCBill sends the app to VISA. Corvett just explained CCBill is at the mercy of VISA on this. OK, makes sense so far. Now heres where I get lost. Dude makes a little noise so CCBill offers to turn on VISA processing. Even though CCBill hasn't heard back from VISA yet... WTF??? So much for being at the mercy of VISA??? If CCBill has the right to temporarily turn on VISA processing for someone who's app hasn't been yes/no'd yet, why don't they just do this by default and save everyone a lot of headache? Then if VISA comes back with decline, shut off VISA for that person. |
I don't get any of this. If you want to complain because your application took 2-3 weeks, then...
A.) You're an idiot. Have some patience. paperwork takes time. B.) If you really have to get upset, get upset with VISA who are the ones holding up your application. If you think that this could be a "loophole" so that CCBill or VISA could hold on to your money. 1.) Go Fuck Yourself. 2.) At least wait until the application is notably late. This really just looks like you changed your mind, and want to get out of the $750. The thing is, when you signed up and paid them the money, you knew it didn't work that way. If you get accepted, you pay. If not, you get it back. There is no "I changed my mind" clause. You should have thought of that before you paid. |
Man I would not complain about 8 cents... The guy that owns alt search is making like 50k a day at 6 cents...
and ccbill rocks!!! :321GFY |

My gripe isn't about CCBill keeping the $750. My gripe is that noone at CCBill could tell me WHEN they would give up on VISA. You say that VISA sends all of the applications back, sometimes it takes 3 weeks. Well.... I have no way of knowing if this is true or not. And I'm sure that SOME applications get lost. I just feel scammed because of the evasiveness of CCBill in answering WHEN we get our refund if Visa never comes through. I took this evasiveness to mean that it would not be refunded ever because the application would be in perpetual processing. |
Let's settle this once and for all:
Put your hand up if you hae been fucked by this imaginary loophole in ccBill's system. *looks around* I thought so. |

CCBill states the typical application time is 5-7 business days. It had been nearly 10. When, then, should they refund money for lost applications? I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a refund when the application was still in processing after the time period they indicated that it would take. |

I quit about halfway down the first page. Man, you're a fucking idiot. If you think they'd rather have your $750 than affiliates processing with their merchant account you're on crack coccaine.
Also, it appears you're impatient. My first year in business I got myself about 100k deep. Brad |

Most people that have Visa also have Master or Discovery, PLUS they take online checking.. I did lose a few rebills but my signups haven't slowed a bit! Every Webmaster should have told Visa the same thing! The Porn ind. is the 2nd largest moneymaker for Visa and they shoulda sent a broad to suck our dicks for the Bizzzzzzz not shake us down! |
