what the fuck is the point of a visor

in the words of george carlin...

what the fuck is the point of half a hat? no one is interested in the top of your HEAD! go back to the store, ask for the rest of the hat, they cheated you. better yet, get one of those jewish hats and sew it to the top.

...but seriously, it seems as though the people who i've encountered who wear visors are all eminem loving "thug" wannabe fags. so i dont think most people who wear visors are doing it because a hat "feels" too consuming on their head. unless of course their head has a diameter of 3 feet, either way, what the fuck?

I may be completely full of shit on this but it is a good enough reason for me.

I was in the Marines for years where obviously having a hat (cover for my jarhead brothers) on your head is a constant way of life. I have watched my hairline go back and now I lean towward the visor because hats can lock in the heat and can cause hair loss. Now I have not sat down and done a double blind placebo case study or anything like that. I gues now that i passed the 30 year mark I want to try any tips i can to make sure I keep a full head of hair.

I dont flip it to the side or wear it backwards and upside down. It does keep the sun out and they do not blow off as easy when the top is off either.

so there you go....lol....hope that is a different perspective for you.

hats are too hot - even with mesh

I only wear a hat when I have bed-head (too often) or during paintball (not often enough)

visors just seem to damn preppy to me, though - reminds me of the country club, plaid knickers on the back nine thing

Why do people wear shorts when they have pants?

I don't ever wear a visor, but if I did, I imagine it would be to block the sun while allowing heat to escape from the top of my head unlike a hat, so I imagine that is the point of one

well as i can understand that heat is a reasonably good excuse for wearing one.... i think most people who wear them, particularly the 14-22 age group, is because its a fashion statement. not because of a comfortability issue.
