WTF is wrong with pinnacle studio 8?

Im trying to work a avi file...sure itīs pretty big (460 meg) in size..ones I have cut and made the movie like I want it to I am to render it...but whatever option I chose to render it in the program just close on me...

Whats happening?

ITīs only with this big avi files...not smaller ones?

Are they to big for the program to work with?

How can I cut avi files smaller?

What are the system requirements of Pinnacle? Does your PC match them? Might be the problem....

The pinnacle studio line of software tools I have tried produced the same results.

I run a system that greatly exceeds their suggested minimum requirements.

I currently use two programs I would highly reccomend.

What about space on the media disk? Is the disk fragmented? ITs very sensetive to lack of space and fragmentation en it render/encodes

well - if the files are LARGE, it might need to break it up 5-50 times while encoding, and if that is the case it's almost sure that you will get a error (and thereby stop) while encoding.
Do you have any dedicated movie hardvare/boardsets? or do you just run it on the CPU?

- that is why I always ONLY have the current job on my mediadisk. Everything else gets moved to the SAN storagesolution
