Deliveroo shows the problem with age verification

Deliveroo and other such sites are showing why age verification cannot work.

Simply because people sign up to these driver accounts using there ID (such as a passport) then instantly sell or rent the accounts out.

This will happen in bulk if such as the UK ever adopted age verification for porn sites.

You would end up with thousands of people signing up, to simply sell or rent accounts for a lot of money.

Not to mention all the fake porn age verification sites that will set up to gather peoples passport and bank details to sell on in order to access bank accounts or take out loans.

Well easy solution, just verify age or identity before every use 😂

The problem will also be the adult didn't log out. The problem with credit card is someone else is paying it off. I am not sure how verification can work without work arounds.

One problem and one the age verification firms had and I believe still have is that the UK government stated that they could not store or sell peoples info.

I had the feeling that the business model was to set up age verification free then sell the data, and the UK government said NO.

Also I believe they could not store data too.

I tried the test site out, using a dead credit card and managed to sign up. In fact a reporter contacted me after reading about how I did it on my site/blog, and published it as if he had done it. It was in a major UK newspaper. I was told this story is why the age verification idea was dropped the first time in the UK.

I did explore AVS avenues another problem was the verification of the content and referrals were considered billing for unverified content.
