35 civil society organisations, including European Digital Rights (EDRi), the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), the German Bar Association and the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), are raising the alarms on legislation the EU Commission is to present on 30 March. Similar to Apple’s highly controversial “SpyPhone” scheme, the EU Commission intends to oblige all providers of e-mail, chat or message services to search for and report CSAM by bulk intercepting, moni-toring and scanning the content of all citizens’ communications – even where they are so far securely end-to-end encrypted.

I always find it amazing how a bunch of fucking old people in EU parliament who's knowledge of computers, networks and encryption ends at logging into facebook decide what impossible feat to next task programmers with.

Years ago the US was trying to pass some law so we all watched the hearing about it on CSPAN. This must have been 2003 or 2004. The head of the US Congress "technology" actually called it that "email thingy".

The people who run our governments have no idea how technology works at any level.

Imagine that Tinfoil hat/conspiracy theorist has say exactly this since the beginning of the Scamdemic
They will try anyway they can to get us accept the Digital ID. did not work with Vaxx pass/ mandate and now they want to block any government service, pension, EI, Welfare, CRA, driver license, insurance etc... if you dont have a digital id. You need those service; you need to sign up to digital id. I already got an account from 3 years ago for my self but at that time they just present this like a website to access our Government related service online faster. Did not know about the FULL CONTROL MODE they try to achieve.
