Just look at the numbers. The west (US, EU, UK, Canada, Austrailia, Japan and others) is probably well over 1 billion people. Thats 1 billion customers that they would potentially be cut off from if we sanctioned China vs around 150 million Russians.

Thats a LOT to risk just to save Putin. And even if they did decide to help, they know the Russian economy is going to collapse one way or another in the next few months

Plus I think if they were going to come out in support of Putin, they would have done it by now

Now I tell you one super dupper military "secret". Ukraine was betrayed. It was betrayed by the West. Right now they (the Ukrainians) are having a lack of weapon, ammunition and... food. Yes, they literally have nothing to eat. So to be honest, they won't least any long. They have no problems with recruits (a lot of highly motivated men are ready to join army), but it's a difficult to fight with bare arms and when you are hungry. So the food and ammo are something that West have in any possible and impossible amount, but it (the West) decided to take a pause and wait till the Ukraine will surrender or be just eliminated.

At least one reason the entire planet is in stitches over the performance of the Russian military is because Russia acted like it would be "Mission Accomplished" within 48 hours. They even published a delusional victory message after a couple of days, removing it as the scale of the total humiliation became apparent:
