Tube aggregator script: so it seems I made something people want to buy

Long story short I developed a script to handle hundreds if not thousands of tube site aggregators with few clicks.

I tried everything: Buran, STP, KVS but none was able to handle thousands of sites with few clicks and - most of all - having different thumb stats for each site. Coding in php for 23 years it was quite easy to do it.

That's not my main business. Many people asked me to sell the script. I don't know.

Selling it (so billing, support, custom developing, update) would be just an headache or a good opportunity for an extra income?

Just because people say something does not mean they are willing to do it

But i agree with your statement - all current tube/aggregator scripts on market are no good, hence i made my own too.

I agree. They are good for single sites but when it comes to handle many ... it's a nightmare.

Tell us some of the functions it has because I have never used one.
What does it do that KVS or Mechbunny doesn't?
Stuff like that helps me understand.

KVS and MB are single sites oriented. MB has API but you have to operate on each site independently. KVS has aliases and satellites but in both cases video stats are shared (read: same rating, same listing etc etc).

KVS is also quite expensive. I managed to lower the price for a basic license to $25 with an order of 1000 pieces.

KVS is the best script available for tubes in my opinion but for network they should work a bit more on few critical features.

https://www.ixxx.com .. a site listing videos from other sites organized in categories. Each thumbnail is linked to the external site.

To keep it simple - KVS and MB are scripts made to run traditional tube site, while aggregator is more like search engine script. In shortly, completely different product . An example can be seen at video search on bing.

Yes, but if you invest same amount of time into making a script for mainstream market, you wont just make living, you can make money up to 200 million. For example, there is one local company which made a shitty SAAS script and they received huge seed funding from venture capital, and they have now currently around 200 programmers working for them.

I can tell you that it's probably not worth it. You might sell a few, but not enough to make it worth the time. We made one in the past, it sold poorly and we probably have much more market reach then you do. Similar situation with TGP. We USED to get inquiries about aggregator sites but they are quite rare now.

Sad but true. But the question is: back in the days it was plenty of scripts .. Smart Thumbs, Comus, Trade Expert, Arrow Trader, TM3 just to name a few. Everyone with a vibrant community of customers. These days nothing. And the traffic around is 10x or 100x more than before. Traffic being polarised into big tubes is an answer but not enough.

Regardless, very few people would be willing to pay more then $200 for such a script and unless you have the infrastructure already in place to actually provide support, updates etc it's not really worth the trouble.

aggregator niche is way harder than it looks

its not likely your first try at a script has any chance to compete

if it does -- use it to launch your own sites. no reason to sell a competitive script.
