ahrefs - semrush - moz: What's the industry standard?

    Hey guys.
After negotiating with a webmaster today about the price of a backlink, it occurred to me that there is more than just domain rank. There is not "that one". At least there are several sites that output this metric. Semrush, ahrefs, MOZ .... all have their own metric. This begs the question for me: what is the industry standard?

    Example of my website:
    ahrefs: 13 (bad?)
    semrush: 47 (quite ok)
    moz: 29 (also quite good)

    Side Note:
It was pretty funny telling him, that the Domain-Rank of his Domain is not high enough while he told me, that it is.
I know, my english is bad. But your german might be even worse

I am looking at Ahrefs DR and UR - UR is most important factor - it reflects backlinks of that page.
Majestic TF sometimes is usual for PBN setup to check strongest version of domain / URL.
But the same can be done with Ahrefs - and even better and easier to find strongest URLs of domain.
Ahrefs is most powerful tool for backlinks - they see all backlinks, if it is not hidden from Ahrefs crawler.

Metric are nothing - it can be made by spam links, GSA blasts, etc.
So it is needed to check actual backlink profile manually.

Also, many link sellers are getting their link prices by their websites traffic volumes.

I second that. Ahrefs is the most useful tool for determining quality of a backlink. You didn’t mention was that a UR or DR (Ahrefs) of your website?

            Ahrefs for backlinks
Google site: command check indexed size
Similarweb for ranking; no rank = useless

SEMrush - alternative to Similarweb, the data is trash (for a small-medium sites) comparing to Similarweb

Moz - What is it? Haha

Ahrefs has its own crawler. Semrush is just gathering information.

I'd use multiple metric platforms to judge a link. For example, if a link has a MOZ of 40 but a CF (Majestic) of just 3, then there's probably something fishy. If a link has a good score on all platforms, you can bet its good quality.

It's important to understand that any external automated bot-based ranking system is NOT quantitative, nor even qualitative when comparing multiple sites side by each.

Many website owners (myself included) ban most bots, including, AHREFS, SEMRUSH, etc..

While there is no guarantee of continued performance, detailed long-term raw traffic server logs provided by the host claiming their prominence, can be more accurate and inclusive than any outside third party metric site.

                      Great Post, always wondered

                      Hello, Smart guys here

So what happens when you check ahrefs and see strong DA / DR

                      Yet similarweb, says traffic N/A

Alex can say same or like 3,000,000

Great DA / DR , but no traffic, why and how ???

any answers , I would be grateful..

I also have a question for you CAM experts that is not asking for any trade secrets...

If I am pushing mainly chaturbate , does anybody have a number of Free registrations needed monthly that would hopefully turn into spenders, is their any science or just prayer ???

I have grown free registrations from 50 or so a month to over 300 ????? still not seeing any big pick up in revenue

                      Thanks for any help

Firstly, I'd say you're comparing apples to oranges if you're looking at DR vs Alexa vs Similarweb.

Ahrefs DOES have an organic traffic measurement you can check out. That'd be a more comparative KPI to the data that Alexa and Similar Web give.

Also, plenty of sites have high DR, but absolutely no traffic. So you can't depend on a single metric to make your decisions. You have to look at the site's overall profile.

Very much this. If there is too much variability between the measurement tools, odds are someone is just gaming one of them.
