Am I the only one disappointed with Matrix 2?

Don't get me wrong, it was pretty good, but still a let down. It was especially cool if you have seen all the Animatrix episodes. I'm still going to go see Matrix 3 in November, but this one left a lot to be desired.

It was good, but stuff like the sex/dancing scene was too long, the fighting seemed a little repetitive, and a few things didn't really make sense; not to mention all the psuedo-philosophy. It was still a good movie with some great special effects.

I liked the first one a lot better, barring the last 5 seconds of the first movie.

You just have to realize the simple truth... It's not the movie that sucks, but that there is no movie. or something.

It overdosed on special effects. Crappy story. Weak execution. One of the crappiest movies I've seen in a while. This movie makes "X2 -- Xmen United" look like Fellini's "Roma"

Too many indiscrepancies! They have that AWESOME control room in Zion...all white, WAY hi-tech to control rusted gears and everywhere OTHER than the control room is low tech and FILTHY?! Huh? They can put themselves in to the Matrix, but they cannot wash theri clothes? Where the HELL did that teenage kid who was thanking Neo for saving him come from? Why was the only NEW character (Link) the only character that was developed? Did I HAVE to see Carrie-Ann Moss and Keanu Reeve's sex scene?! That was FOUL! "Trinity" looked OLD! And BAD! Laurence Fishburne...wtf happened to you?! Did you go on the high fat/no exercise diet?! When you were fighting on the semi, you looked like King Pen from DareDevil...the Superman stuff...WTF?! They muct have paid a LOT for that effect, we saw it so many times. Let's see..>DareDevil rip off, SuperMan rip off...Matrix 3 does Neo start shooting webs?

oh...btw, nice DRESS, Neo!

matrix 1 had a bit of CLOSURE, atleast... matrix 2 has just ended to abruptly, "TO BE CONTINUED..." they could have done a bit better than that.

A friend of mine went to high school with Carrie Anne Moss. I have her annual pic somewhere, she has had so much surgery it's hilarious.

I watched Ghost In The Shell again recently and was surprised at how much Matrix borrowed from it. The market chase scene in the Matrix is totally ripped from it.

A live action Ghost In the Shell would be something...The idea of hacking peoples brains to make them do your bidding is cool.

It was eye candy. Everything will come together in Revolutions. "To be concluded..."

Best fight scenes EVER...

BUT, as far as the plot, i'd say they're trying too hard.

Yeah. I have to admit it sucked.

With the exception of the freeway/truck rescue, the fight scenes were kinda lame.

Plot didn't make much sense either. Like, how do the machines learn about the location of Zion? They don't explain that or anything else.

Half of the fun of the first movie was learning about the Matrix. Since that mystery was gone ... I guess they had a hard time coming up with something else that was interesting.

I have just seen on TV a documentary on the making of Matrix 2 and it was better than the film.

I've said this on a couple of other boards and I thought I would throw it in here, as well.

If you're going to the movie to see lots of action, special effects and superbly choreographed fight scenes, you should like the movie. But DO NOT go to it expecting to see the subtle philosophical references and a plot that will really make you think... because this movie leaves much to be desired in that area. I think this movie was much too hastily put together in a mad rush to get it to the theaters because of the huge delay due to Aaliyah's death. Fans were becoming impatient and angry because they wanted to see the movie so badly and I beleive the producers just did a half-assed rush job on it. I'm hoping (and expecting) for Revolutions to be much better.

If you don't like to think in the theater, this should be a good choice, though.

After the first scene, a 3 year old kid in the front row of a packed theater belted out "ha-haaa". The whole audience had a good laugh after that. I couldn't help laghing to myself through most of the entire movie.
The dialogue sucked. Can't wait for the video to make MST3K comments.... It's going to be fun.
The effects still looked computer animated. I wanted total suspension of dis-belief, certainly didn't happen in this movie. Sooo fake!

If Roger Corman was the executive producer it wouldn't have surprised me. The story and dialogue was just as good as a late night cable adventure.
