News Council of Europe Issues Resolution Recommending Sweeping Porn Regulation

    https://www.xbiz.com/news/263560/cou...orn-regulation

As well as mandatory credit card age verification, it recommends a total ban on porn advertising, obligatory 'health warning' messages on porn sites similar to cigarette packs, and IDs and contact details of every person in an image or video uploaded to a porn site.

if they want to regulate, they have to regulate everything.

    - litigation for piracy
    - litigation for phishing and hacking
    - litigation for chargebacks

unlikely they care about protecting the industries they regulate.

producers will just move out of the EU.

I agree, but this is not an EU body - the Council of Europe predates the EU and includes even countries such as Russia and Turkey.

Thankfully, their resolutions are non-binding, although they are influential and no doubt many European countries will be spurred on to adopt these proposals.

Nipping at least some of the human trafficking with ID reqs for models, killing random uploads of people's private images, many of whom are underaged. Blocking pornography off to kids. It's good

Personally, if I thought human trafficking was a real problem in the porn industry, I'd be in some other business.
