One you go to a Dell 17" monitor, you won't go back to a 15". I set up my old computer for my mother shortly after getting my new computer & about freaked trying to read everything.
One word of warning: make sure your deskspace can handle the larger monitor. My desk is now 6" from the wall only because it doesn't have a shelf just for the keyboard.
