I'm not so sure the best team wins a lot of the time so that's nothing to complain about. If you want to be sad that your Lakers didn't win then you should take a look at your boy Kobe who got bitchslapped by 3 different Spurs players. Don't get me wrong I hate the Spurs and the only other team I wanted to win other than the Mavericks is the Lakers, I just don't like Kobe Bryant but I am a fan of Shaq. Injuries always happen, during the regular season to prevent you from making the playoffs or getting a higher spot and during the playoffs, it's never anything to complain about because it happens no matter what to all teams.

What was the big injury on the Lakers that I missed. Rick Fox please don't tell me that was a huge injury. Shaq, I don't think so, there's a rule with athletes if you play then you got no excuses. So how did we all know it was those 3 teams, do you really think the Mavericks were that much worse than those guys, this is a competitive league and anything can happen.

I will tell you what.. First, yes..Fox has been a CRITICAL part of the lakers success, and recent title.. I mean KEY, in every playoff, period, he ws key... Devon was critical off the bench, all year and injured not the same.We all know Koby's shoulder in the playoffs, and Shaq's injuries this year, but at least they were in the game so no excuses there.

Kings, less Webber, done deal. It was a playoff ender.

plain fact of the matter is, there are bumps in the road. the team that avoids those bumps, wins games and in this case series. now, with c-webb out, you can say dallas had a huge advantage. but game 2, c-webb wasnt out and the kings got man-handled...

noone knows what would have happened if c-webb had not gotten hurt. chances are, the kings would have won the series. but, once again, shit happens, the mavs won 4 out of 7 and are off to the w.c.finals against a very good spurs team. a spurs team, that the mavs tied the season series against, 2 games a piece... regardless of who wins, the winner wont come from CALI so we should all be happy about that.:321GFY

I do think Duncan is awesome, and a class act.. I saw a Laker Spurs series that was really deceided by two close games. I did not see Spurs Dominance. No need to to go over details, i can accept the Spurs win..

another thing: if Lakers are so dependent of names, then they're not the best TEAM, but the franchise with more stars. Just that, it worked for 3 years, it won't work anymore. Poppovich and a few smart NBA coachs were following very close the FIBA championships and they realized that there's a different way to play, one most NBA players don't play. As long as the trick is new, they'll have an advantage over most teams, no surprise Spurs and Dallas are on conference finals. An example: Manu, 2 years in a row European MVP, an excelent offensive player plays defense with the Spurs. And therefore, on game 6, as Manu took Kobe, he made only 5 points out of his 20 total (when defended by any other player). He ranks #2 in steals and he is an offensive player! Just imagine if some defensive player took Kobe (or whoever). Until now, Bowen is considered one of NBA's best defensive players. Kobe made 13 with him on defense.
btw, Pop has put the eye in 2 guys from Argentina's team (Scola and Nocioni) to match up with Manu. They're inexpensive, they're good, eager for glory and with balls the size of a basket ball. If you have the luck to see them play, you'll understand what I mean when I say BALLS (USA team suffered them in Indianapolis), all with capital letters.
