    NOLA / Ida Update

The city is decimated in parts.

No power in large areas of New Orleans and surrounding parishes, some areas having to wait until the end of the month until they *might* be able to get power back.

There is an 8pm to 6am curfew that is being enforced until further notice because of looting.

People are getting shot lining up for gas, ice and food.

I'm one of the lucky ones, my power and internet came back on 2 days ago, I had a generator and enough gas to power it. Was able to help the neighborhood charge their cell phones to keep in contact with their loved ones and feed people.

The French Quarter has some limited power, bars and restaurants are feeding the locals with what they have, food, ice, pet food and gas is being given away to those who need it on a very limited basis.

We have another storm headed this way in the next few days, the city may not be able to hold its own if the flooding starts to hinder the power companies working around the clock to restore lines and power to peoples homes.

If you are able to, please donate to some of the local charities that are helping with disaster relief in the area.

I spent about 30 years of my life in southeastern Louisiana. I grew up in St. John and St. Charles Parish and lived in Jefferson Parish for 13 years. It's sad seeing how devastated these places are from Hurricane Ida. Stay strong.

Here in Mexico we had Nora. 5 days no electricity cause we are outside the center. Further down the road they might get electricity the coming days. Some had bad luck and rising rivers and falling trees caused damage.

I always put bottles of water in my fridge. Than the fridge stays cool about 3 days cause of these ice bottles. Also handy for extra water.

Good luck. I hardly had problems except electricity/internet. We just sat at the pool a few days.

          everything is fake

Here is a small list of local charities that are helping out across the state of Louisiana at the present time to assist those who have been displaced or have no power, water or home.

Please consider donating directly to the local charities with their feet already on the ground helping those parishes that were hit heavily by Ida.

We moved to Puerto vallarta 3 months ago. Outside the center so it took some time to get electricity back. Here we have seaview, clean ocean, nice and green. More Mexican.
