Tech Weird Behaviour (serious post) Any ideas please?

OK, so when ever I go to one of my local news services lately, I have been getting a cloudflare error: See Below:

This suggests the host is having problems and tells me to try later. But its not just THIS news service - Its most of them...

However, if I fire up a VPN and 'Go to Sweden'...

Working perfectly. Any ideas why I cant access LOCAL news from my LOCAL IP, but can from Sweden? Like I say, its a few different site, not just this one, but they are all local sites to me... Its the same from my iMac and my PC so it must be IP specific?

Any ideas? Its just annoying tbh...

Could be DNS clusterfuck on cloudflare side, i experienced same case with some services where i was not able to access directly but was able over VPN. You could try to update your DNS with google or open dns and then see what happens.

I tried the command I found which was chrome://net-internals/#dns directly into the browser... But still the same... Also I tried sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder in terminal on my iMac... Or do you mean something else?

Could be something like the Cloudflare IPs aren't allowed in your region for some reason.

        Other random possibilities:
        Origin web server application crashes
Headers exceeding 16 KB (typically due to too many cookies)
An empty response from the origin web server that lacks an HTTP status code or response body
Missing response headers or origin web server not returning proper HTTP error responses

520 errors are just unknown, so it could be lots of things, most likely on the server end of the website you're going to..

Nope, still the same on the PC despite changing DNS to 8.8.8.8. and doing the DNS flush on chrome, its still the same - Never mind - Not the end of the world. Not gonna waste more time on it - Thanks to all who replied

Its 100% My IP. I tried on my tablet on the network and no joy - Then I switched off WIFI on my phone and went to its own 4G signal... It came up straight away.

Call your service provider and complain. The greasy wheel gets the duck.

You can still try with other DNS providers, like Open DNS and cloudflare DNS as well. Dont give up till you try all possible solutions.

Yeah, thanks, but I'm done now. Reality states that EVERYTHING ELSE works perfectly - Aside from 3 local news sites (which are all 'related')

I've given it a go, but why worry if it isn't a quick fix? If I REALLY NEED to visit one of them, I just open my vpn. Not the end of the world and just one extra click...

No point in mucking about when everything else works perfectly, cause knowing my luck, it will be only to find I can now access these three news sites, but 50% of EVERYTHING ELSE stops working !!!

But yeah, I HAVE given up
