There isn't going to be any $2500-3k a month anytime soon in mainstream or adult in my opinion. It would take a year, maybe longer, and that's if you were very good at design, product and traffic. -

Assuming he is still living at home with you, then why not take a McDonalds day job to save up some money, while honing his craft and seeing what works online for him, in the evenings and weekends?
McDonalds starting salaries are not THAT bad. And if he doesn't have the expenses of rent and food etc, then he would be making nearly 2500 a month from McDonalds, and can find out what works online without the pressure of having to make rent or stay fed?

This used to be popular gimmick on GFY, every time when someone would ask how to make money most of people would reply with "get a job in mcdonalds". This was kind a fun to me, because in my city it was not possible to get job in Mc unless you been regular college student - if you hire regular college student, you dont need to pay for social/health taxes, so kind a obvious why they hired only students. I think nobody was there permanent employee, only maybe manager.
And also, there was one GFY-er/netponder who took this advice and got job there - if anyone remember, his nickname was mikesinner . Not sure what happened with him after he got job there, he stopped posting after it.Comment

Well, does he want to code for a living? There are plenty of coding jobs who will hire "Juniors" at 2500/month. I think given he's 18, he's better off spending a few years working for someone before he starts something of his own. This of course assumes he has actual skills and didn't just read "html for dummies".

Well, he kind of did, not his services, but definitely some advice.
That is some good advice, basic, yes, but good.
The kid needs to go and do the work required to figure out how to do it. Having it hand fed isn't going to help much (says the guy who hand feeds stuff all the time).
