    Liquor Stores In The USA

In Massachusetts they call liquor stores “package stores” or “packies.” I just read a post on Facebook about this. When I lived in New Hampshire and Maine, I never asked what they were called. I just remember Massachusetts license plates in NH to avoid the tax on liquor. Friends would do huge runs up north for liquor!

Do you call the liquor store anything else?

Every state has their own liquor laws.

When I was a kid growing up in NJ we had "Liquor Stores".

Here in California you buy booze in any grocery store, Wal-Mart, Target.... We surely don't go to a "special" store that only sells booze.

NH was like this when I lived there. It was odd to see at first!

Things changed in Massachusetts when the age was raised to 21 to drink from 18.

British people have a similar name for where they buy booze.

Fake Edit: (Is this the obvious joke, or is that the joke in the OP?)
