Wow... Another thing to lose

Heard on the new we may be required to carry a covid passport to travel, get into concerts, ball games...

Good idea? or a better way to categorize and separate us?

I mean I can see the need to keep people safe, but on the other hand, I have a problem having things mandated on me. So it's like getting a degree... if you want a job you better have a bachelors degree.. now if you want to travel, you must be injected with out drug.

So torn over this.

And to make this clear... this is not political... this is about the vaccine and these new passports

"Passport" is probably a good name for this seriously premature idea.

There is still so much unknown about COVID-19, as evidenced by the increase of mutations (aka variants of concern), the expanding age range of those potentially at risk of contracting/spreading the virus, and above all how the various vaccines work over the long-term for the original COVID-19 and the new variants.

None of this is known yet.

With science-based discussion of the possibility of COVID becoming endemic, requiring regular re-tweaked vaccinations, kind of like flu vaccines, a "passport" would have to be "stamped" with each shot like travel passports.

And all of this highly personal information would have to be stored, maintained, and accessible by "authorities" internationally. Like this will never get hacked...

In my view, until a credible time proven track history is available to assert vaccine safety/efficacy (not through speculation but actual large scale case studies), any discussion of "passport" social gatekeeping related to vaccination status is not rational.

For international plane travel, USA and other countries have required vaccinations in the past and some still do.

The good news is cunts that used to fly coughing with flu the whole trip or with screaming sick babies are no longer getting on the flight. Hopefully they also mandate a shower and deodorant within 24 hours of flying.

The pressure for people to vaccinate is enormous. The people will call you anti/vaxx, nazi, saying you are killing old people (while in fact politician failed protecting them), people want to take of rights people who won't take a experimental vaccin, people are talked into fear.

That's 2 different things. Vaccines to travel to Africa and parts of Asia are to protect you from getting sick with things like yellow fever etc., And most of us are okay with that which is why it's not an issue.

We are not okay with vaccine passports for Corona because we feel it's political.

Also, corona is already all over the world and out of control so I can't "spread" it to another country. It makes no difference if I drive to the city next door or fly to Europe. Why I need a vaccine to fly to another country but not if I drive the the nearest city or even pop by my local 7-11 is beyond me. It makes no sense.

This is about politics and that's why we resist these types of passports. They don't make any sense.

Wrong use of the name "Passport".

"Passports" are for use in Airports, Train stations, Ship yards, to leave one country and enter another.

Doing that, and going to a local Pub or going to see a show, are two very different things.

They need to come up with a new name for the digital documentation of Vaccination and test and Trace.

I have no problem with it at all - and intend on renewing my passport with the updated information as well as my family. This has been blown out of proportion and from groups that cry there is no god but listen to science - suddenly don't want to listen to science.

Some private transport companies have rules. But transportation is also regulated federally. For example they can't make a rule that allows only people who were born in January to fly. That is not up to the private company and so they can't do whatever they want. They have to abide by government regulation too.

All US citizens have the right to travel and to board a plane with reasonable limitations (can't be aggressive on board etc.) You cannot be denied boarding for being a woman for example and so if the airline makes that rule then the female passenger can take them to court where they would lose and have to change that rule. She has the right to fly.

So if the government says people need to be vaccinated in order to fly then I would argue they are violating the rights of US citizens by taking away one right (flying) unless the citizen is vaccinated which should be a choice.

This is nothing new in the US.

Most public schools require proof of vaccinations for kids to enroll.

Same with colleges and again for grad-school.

Many health care workers are required to get their flu-shots.

I think it's the term "passport" that people are freaking out over. Biden has said there won't be any requirement of this sort at the federal level.

I imagine in most cases it will be like an express lane. The fast lane you show proof of vaccination and you're in, the other lane takes your temp and you have to show proof of testing negative within X# of days.

All of the news reports say "A cause of death was not given".

We had a case here in Placer County, California, where someone got the vaccine and died a few hours later. The local Sheriff's department made a big announcement about it which was poorly worded, making it sound like he died because he got from the vaccine shot. After an investigation it turns out this man had been very sick with COVID and didn't tell anyone. He didn't die because he got the vaccine; He died because he was dying before he got the vaccine.

Not distraught. Just very tired of low iq people. Here is a tweet with a screencap. Granted, it was a month ago, but these RNA vaccines change the body. Reprogram it. I'm fully vaccinated and have signed up for NY's vaccination passport. The passport isn't just for vaccination, it's also so you can prove that you got tested recently. For now, there are very few places to actually use my vaccination passport - if I wanted to a ball game or a wedding it could be used. But you can also bring your vaccination card or print out the results of your COVID test. It's just the passport is on your phone, so you're unlikely to forget to bring it.

The one advantage of the passport over paper documentation is that it can't be faked, and it's much easier for venues to validate as you enter.

It's really not a big deal. People are just complaining because they want to complain about something.

For the past 12+ years I've focused on building & running gay affiliate sites.

It's mRNA - it uses the protein building mechanism of translation to build fragments of the proteins in the spike. As foreign proteins, these are what the vaccine is priming the recipients immune system to recognize.

In no way does it alter your DNA or genes.

But you know what can? Viruses. When they inject their DNA into the host cell, they can change the sequence upstream of an oncogene, turning it into a start codon.

FYI, I have multiple degrees in the life sciences, including a minor in Genetics and a lot of post-grad Genetics courses.
