format c:

It is time to format the computer, because it became very slow and unstable. I used to do it every 2 months when i was using windows 98, now i am using xp and it survived for 9 months. But it is over. It takes like 20 seconds to open the fucking icq. Now, the problem is i have around 70 gb of data in the hd. I used to zip my files, password protect them and send them to my roommate's computer, but now my computer is so fucked up that it cannot even zip big files. Is there a way to reinstall xp without loosing data files? (not software, just clips, pictures and mp3s)

Never say {OK} or {YES} to anything. Ever.

And if you want to format your drive call Microsoft, they can do it with their integrated remote administration thats enabled by default

That could work ...

Try using Partion Magic for it, as far as I know it's among the best softwares for doing that.

yep - its alway a little dangerus to re-size partitions - the chance off losing data os BIG.
Buy that extra harddrive, and move (and KEEP) all data on that one

Only way to be sure its a clean install. Hdd's are so fucking cheap right now, just spend the extra bucks and do it right.
