It was taken by one of the cameras that it uses to see where it's going - It's like an eye - This is why you should watch the video - lol...

I am guessing the 'real' cameras take massively high def pics that will take longer to get here.....

yup, and they mentioned it was still covered with some protective material until the dust settles from the landing.

Over the next few days...it took that shitty shot 11 mins to get back to earth

I have a hard time getting my head around the distances involved in space travel. Not to mention the speeds involved. I can't imagine the calculations involved in sending an object that far, landing on a moving target, in a relatively exact spot. No wonder NASA keeps sending my resume back!

In my opinion, the moon is the place to be. We need to establish a base there before some other country does. Like China, for instance. Mars is okay for robots, but humans would be a tough, expensive investment for not much more than a photo op.
