You do realize that people that are actually good at research and writing are probably already making some pretty good money?
This isn't "write my term paper for me" type business.
I'll tell you what. If I leave out the verbs too then I can probably get it done for less than the $800 that mike wants, but not much less.
So, you get adverbs, articles, adjectives, punctuation, all that kind of great literary stuff.
It is a bargain, trust me.

If you want someone who will take a general idea of what the article is about and then just spew out whatever he/she is thinking on the fly, then that will be about 1-2c/word.
If you want someone who will do thorough research on your topic, cite sources correctly in MLA/APA format, use correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc, as well as being fluent in English, then that will cost a few cents more per word. If it's adult, though, it probably won't need that much work.

No writer worth their salt is going to put together a 6000-word article based on research for $120.
The first post was pretty much spot on. $800 and up for that kind of job.
Think at least 10 - 15 cents per word.

I used to use a writer. He wasn't the best ever but he was ok. He would do around 1000 words for $10 and that included images.
He was English speaking but didn't live in the west. From what I understood, the articles he wrote paid his beer money and lodgings.Comment

I would say $150-200 unless the research actually means spending 3 or more days going through books etc. On the other hand, if the research means google.com, then $150.
