    US/Canadian border crossing

What are the requirements while crossing the US/Canadian border by either walking or driving? Are there easy to access places to cross with no guards?

Look at a map, it's a piece of cake to sneak across the border.

Sure just hand all your illegal drugs to the firsst guy you see in a uniform. He will be collecting for the Border Patrol Christmas Party.

Get a boat and take it across Lake Superior. No biggie.

Much more harder here in B.C. You have to show 3 pieces of I.D and wait twice as long as before.

done it couple of months ago by car.
takes less than a minute to cross it.
Driving licence will do it. But passport should be with you.

I cross it every day as part of my commute to work. It's no big deal. There are no visa requirements for either Canadians or Americans, but you will need to have photo ID, like a driver's license. Your passport or your birth certificate is probably a good idea, too. The customs officials will ask you what nationality you are and normally ask to see your ID. Usually, they will also ask where you are going and if you are importing anything into the country.

However, since you are asking about access points with no customs/border patrols, maybe you have something to hide. If you do show up at a border crossing acting nervous, that's a sure-fire way to get your car ripped apart.

the news in BC is that Drivers Licenses aren't enough. You really ought to have a passport or birth certificate with you or something that shows your citizenship.

These days as an American coming home they VERY much prefer you have a passport.

There's dozens of unprotected crossings, but it isn't hard to get across even at a protected one.
