You can't compare it to the flu vaccine because the flu virus mutates quicker than the sars-cov2 virus.

As far as science goes, we know that people who had the original sars virus in 2003 still have reactive t-cells to it 17 years later. So it may be the same with sars-cov2, but we won't know for sure until 17 years has passed. As long as the virus only mutates slowly, there's no reason why the vaccine will only give you protection for 8 months.

Yeah they are. Also domestic violence calls are 30-50% higher. I have a neighbor who works at a women's shelter that showed me statistics for how many calls they got in the month of March, April, May. The chart rose exponentially compared with previous years.

People are also dying of untreated strokes, heart attacks, cancer etc.,

Africans are starting to starve. So far in Mali (I think) they have 10,000 kids a day lining up for the malnutrition clinics. According to NGOs on the ground there it's due to lock downs and not Corona. Many thousands will die in the upcoming year.

A family member of mine is a nurse in a long term care home. She and other nurses are saying that residents are dying of sheer loneliness. We are killing them by trying to protect them.

Depressing.

But yeah like has already been said, suicide numbers here have also went sky high, next year might not be any better. Perhaps the worst is still yet to come. Infact it very likely has...

It is a practical matter. The coronavirus is more of a flu for those under say 50 so ideally e start at the top and work our way down to clean up the hospitals,
