Why wont the TLD's give us .sex?

Why wont they give us the .sex TLD?

It makes so much sense to me, to have these domains.

It seems to me that everyone could benefit from such a thing, but its like the powers that be, try to shuffle it under the carpet as if its some kind of dirty bastard child - should be locked in the closet.

What a lot of bullshit.

I wonder if we as an industry could unite to make it happen?

Or maybe we as an industry are divided on the issue?

Whats the consensus?

Within 1 minute of registrations going live every usable .sex extension there is will be registered to about 50 different big domain speculators.

Why is this a good thing?

If it's voluntary, it's fine. If they try to force you to be on .sex only, it's fucked.

They are just now launching a .kids.us domain. That should help parents who want to keep their kids sheltered from certain types of sites.

Forcing adult sites onto a new TLD is the only logical reason for using .sex.

This would have been a good idea about 8 years ago.

If done now it would of course, make some speculators a massive amount of cash.

I can't imagine them being able to force people to change without a huge fight. That's probably why they're going for .kids.us instead. Rather than forcing adult to move, they can allow some sites to choose to move to a non adult world.

What if there was a way that you could only get the .sex if you already had the matching .com

There would be too many fights for .sex by anyone with an adult domain name

Make it dot sex tld instead -- no one will lose the domain they currently have this way

.sexcom
.sexnet
.sexorg
.sexws
.sexus
.sexcc
.sexca

etc
