uh.. i hardly think, when it comes to musical ability that korn can ever match anything metallica can do... metallica's songs are perfect and complex enough to set them aside from other bands, but also not too complex as to where people won't like them...

in the album 'Black', i'd like to see korn bust out songs with as much feel and emotion to them, my ass they would.

however, i think Korn did do a good job on covering one.. of course they can't play the FULL song, it has to be cut short for sake of time...

avril didn't do anything great, but it wasn't horrible. it was just the typical chick voice.

i have a lot of hope for the upcoming st. anger album, they're reverting back to their oldschool style, but i think it'll be with a touch of nu-metal which sucks. anyhow, metallica has influenced me more than any other band, been playin guitar / bass / drums for 9 years... haven't found a band yet who was more fun / intriguing / inspiring to play.

Some record company exec wanted to target all the whiny "angst-filled" teenagers, so he put together a band that wrote songs about every fucked up thing so everyone everywhere would have to relate to it.

I'm not even gonna get into the 2nd whiniest band, the N'sync of metal, Linkin Park...or the close 3rd, Staind.

metallica put in their dues.. made some badass albums... hell, if i went through all of that i'd become a fuckin sellout too. and then do what they're doing now, pushing out a badass oldschool style record.

money is nice once you've put you're all into your music... dont blame them a bit.

I appreciate their music. They're damn good at what they do, and I think they sound better doing the melodic, grungy stuff.

But I don't agree with their reasons for the whole Napster thing. That's what made me dislike them as people. Their tapes being copied and traded is what got them where they are today.
