Starting a new porn site - complete amatuer looking for tips

I was in the adult industry in the early 2000's when it was the glory days for Adult. I got out of it, and have been in ecommerce ever since. But I always liked the adult industry and would like to start a small site and see what I can do with it. My living has been made exclusively online and by building websites so I am not new to building and marketing websites. I'm just new to marketing adult.

So tell me if I have this right as far as generating traffic. Basically I just buy links and posts from you guys in the sell/buy forum. This will generate some traffic and will also give me backlinks for google traffic. Only problem I see with this is buying good links looks to be pretty costly and I highly doubt I will make a return on investment with that. Are there any other ways of generating traffic quick?

I know most of you guys are shaking your head...I shouldnt bother getting in it. But I have some free time, I have alot more research and learning to do, but I think I can make a success of it. Any general tips for launching a new website would be much appreciated.

I'd stay away from tubes if you're not a techie. The competition is mostly techies -- they have a major competitive advantage over non-technical people. A niche tube can compete for beer money but we don't get into internet marketing for beer money, do we?

paysite/camsite/dating-site reviews seem like the best route for a non-technical person with internet marketing experience.

Rather than buying links on the sell/buy forum here you should study the backlink profiles of your competitors using ahrefs and buy links on the same sites as your competition. Allocate some budget for lower-quality links; you need quality AND quantity; you can't get quantity if you only buy premium links.

I was also in the adult business earlier 2010, started a few tube and cam sites few months ago, all i could say things were changed noticeably.

I would recommend starting a niche tube site, you can get an idea from google trends, also target country and language from google search results. Another good point is reading topics in buy&trade forums. you can follow which niche type gets more attention.

Buying traffic is kinda waste of money if you don't have no traffic at all, when your credit runs out, it'll be dead silence again in your site. Working for good seo and building backlinks might be good in long run. Don't expect anything in short time.

in the end i would recommend, you should start a niche site that turns you on. it will be more appealing to put content.

I would say too, that its not that simple that u just buy some posts and links and it will work from alone. It really depend on the kind of site and the way of monetization to make it worth.

My only tip is, don't sign up for a ton of random programs and put up a bunch of links to all of them.

The affiliates that make the most money in adult push 1-2 programs and figure out how to send volume.
