    Tech Wide monitor recommendations

Hey, looking to to replace my two-monitor setup with one ultrawide. Thinking about Dell UltraSharp U4919DW. Anyone using anything similar and what would you recommend.

Or maybe it's better to get two 4k monitor setup?

I think Mark Prince has that Dell one. Supposed to be pretty good

Don't forget the new offering from Samsung though

I Upgrade to Philips 499P9H/00 49” monitor last month when we got the new office, and happy with the shift from dual monitor.

For what tasks you are using it?

Right now I'm more in to 2xDell UltraSharp U2720Q 4k monitors setup and the main driver for me is that text will be sharper and in general picture quality will be better.

Comparing with two monitor setup, is it really that much better for webmastering multitasks?

              - Programming/Scripting
              - Reading/studying
              - Watching youtube or other videos while I play around
              - Little bit of editing(video) but nothing for customers

              NO gaming

I had two Samsung S24E650 before (still have them at home, and use it now) and loved they because of speed and color, but wanted to have one desktop only at work, to be more productive.

It's easy to tab around on the different windows, when you can still see all the 4 windows you are working at, at the same time

Did you considered getting Dell UltraSharp U4919DW if so why did you pick Phillips one?

I have several bad experiences with Dell server and workstations (RMA) and would never buy one of their products again, due to the partners they have here in Denmark

On the other hand, I have used Phillips for many years, and my TV's are Phillips as well - always been happy with their quality.

I see, it's not a technical issue in this case. Thanks

The main difference I found is panels, VA on Phillips and IPS on Dell. Dell uses same panels as LG so I will dig deeper.

I have had nothing but great service and products from Dell, and literally nothing from Philips that was even remotely high quality. They can't even make a damned electric shaver that doesn't fall apart after 3 weeks.

I am not saying anything bad about Dell, just that the partner that does the repairs here in Denmark, dont know what they are doing, and have cost several of my customers downtime. I still have one T440 server at a small customer running, and I cant wait till I can replace it with something else, where I can rely on getting the spareparts in time.

The first 2 years Dell were in Denmark (1997), I actually rand the hardware replacement department in one of their two Danish partners (Getronics) - So I know them well, and have nothing bad to say about them just their current partners.

I dont use any other product from Philips than the monitors and the TV (and I'm bald) ... sooo I dont think we have much to fight over

My experiences have been similar. Each of the laptops that I had bought for the office have needed to go back to the Microsoft store at least once. I've had my laptop completely replaced once. My battery went bad, swollen, and they wouldn't replace the battery (this was on the 2nd laptop.) I have a Dell monitor where the bottom quarter of the screen flickers out after it's on for a few hours. My laptop doesn't push audio/video at a proper speed to the monitor, through the dock, so I don't watch video on it. Something is up with the 4k display as well.

Dell has lost my business. Will not buy again.

Edit: I have no experience with the partners in Denmark. LOL.
