Hello All,

It's been awhile since I've posted and I hope everyone is doing well.

I was wondering what everyone is using these days with StrongBox and Proxypass not being around any more and not working.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Depending on your site size, your needs, and budget, hiring a competent developer to modify open source options may be best. In the long run it may be cheaper than the monthly fees the remaining password protection services charge and you get something customized exactly as you see fit (not to mention not needing to potentially rely on a third-party server that if went down, may make it impossible for your own site to function).

Just looking for possible things that still exist. I cannot believe everyone is running custom and or MYSQL/APACHE/NGIX

Is aMember Pro still a thing? Maybe the only thing you have to add to this ready-to-go script is some IP banning solution for password sharing and bruteforce attack.

We are using Proxypass and I spoke to Terry at proxigence just a few weeks ago. What makes you think they are not around anymore ?

Proxypass has worked well for us. We use that in conjunction with standard htaccess. Proxypass can block based on throttle attempts, download amount and amount of different countries accessing the site. Since we started using Proxypass we have not had a lot of issues with password sites. Fileshare sites are another matter.

A lot of our customers use Proxypass and are happy with the performance. Exclusively to MojoHost, there's also Proxypass Lite which halves the cost of the license if you're under 250 members.
