Debt

Debt free, moderate debt, or fucked at the moment? What do you think about the whole 'living beyond your means' mentality?

It seems like we never have enough money.
Its strange...

I do ok, and the wife even works and makes over 100k her self but we never have money, and our credit is just now getting good.

I just dont get it.

But I am under 30 and I have traveled a lot around the world for someone my age. Asia is next including India.

If that SARS thing would ever go away. But damn it seems like come every month things get tight.

Strange.

I know what you mean, they feel like you're a waste of a sale if you don't take the financing plan. I always buy everything up-front, no lease, nothing exept full-purcashing and I get the strange look wondering why would you spend all this cash at once. When you do the math on how much extra they would make by a financed plan, it sickens me having them trying to force me into their packages. The last car I got would have been almost $4000 over a 3 year term, no damn way, I'm buying everything up-front from now on and refuse to buy anything any other way.

hehe, I paid for a backup pc/file server for my home LAN with cash and got treated like a criminal.

I'd just come back from Vegas and had around 2k in $100's in my wallet. Walked into CompUSA, got what I wanted, and put it on the counter, and before the cashier could start the usual spiel about applying for their credit card, getting low monthly payments etc told the chick I was gonna pay cash. She got this dumb look on her face and called the asst. manager, who actually tried to dissuade me by talking me into applying for their credit card.

Told her it wasn't happening, so they made me stand at the counter for like 10 minutes while the bitch went over each and every one of my $100's with the little pens they use.. and holding them up to the light.. like they thought I'd run the fuckers off on the Xerox in the back of the store.

too funny. on Wednesday i bought my mom a big screen sony for mother's day. the tv i got is very rare in Canada, so it it had to be shipped in. i literally had to argue with the sales guy to just pay it with interact.

"please sign up for our store card, you can cut it up afterwards" - this is literally what he was telling me. wouldn't let it go till i told him i'd leave and go elsewhere. ahaha.

sort of why i made the thread.

In the last 4 years I havent made one single loan. My business expand at the rate the customers pay us.
We could do better, no doubt, but I sleep well at night knowing the car, the house, the bills, the bike, the office, the hardware and phones are payed, and dont belong to some bank or "business angle"

No debts here. Never had one, trying to never have one.

I ALWAYS first make the money before I spend it. I hate people who pay for shit in parts. "I need that tv now, I'll pay 3 years for it with 15%/year intrest". Idiots.

It's really not funny but my opinion worth exactly the cost of a cup of coffee at dunk n' dine is the more you spend WISELEY you will at least treble current income. Tip: Never settle for anytning less than the best you can afford. Even if it takes 10 years and you have to do it by yourself with no staff. It will have you living out of your means but you have an excellent chance of making a shitpot of money if you have a sharp brain and can make the right decision without hesitating when youj know all the facts.

I've turned living beyond my means into an art form.

Over past few years, every time my income increases 10% my expenses increase 20%. Fortunately, I got a plan. A big fat life insurance policy. Eventually, i throw myself in front of a bus, bills get paid.

Sweet
