Hot or Not Just had a 6 inch Q-tip stuck up my nose!

Have been in close contact with 2 people that live with someone recently confirmed with covid so got tested today. Was actually quite easy. The County here is doing free testing and it seems nobody knows about it because getting an appointment was ridiculously easy, whereas I hear getting testing from clinics is a bit more difficult.

You fill out a form online, based on your answers they allow or deny your test, then they allow you to pick a site and schedule.

Upon arriving, you drive through this crazy maze like course to get to the first station, where they check your ID and make sure you are allowed. Then you go through another maze to station 2, where they give you the testing kit. Then you go through another maze to station 3, where they do the actual test. Then off you go.

The maze, 3 stations, 6 workers at each station and sheriffs directing traffic seemed a bit over-the-top to me but hey if that's what works? LOL.

I'm supposed to get an email when the results are in then I log on to the website. According to others it seems to be taking about a week to get results.

Anyone else get tested? Positive or negative?

Same - I have been practicing for lockdown for at least 18 months ...

The test is a bit of a shock - I thought they were trying to swab what's left of my brain.....

I hope you are fine. I did the antibody test. Proved I have had the coronavirus and now have antibodies. Woohoo.

Any results yet? I honestly do not know a single person that had it. I know a lot of people were sick this winter but none confirmed.

No results yet. Based on what other people are telling me, I will probably have them on Tuesday or Wednesday. Will update when I know more!

Regarding antibodies, will go get tested for that after I get these results back. I had a nasty 2 month virus in March/April and the doctor could not figure out what was wrong with me. May as well see if this was it.

That might just mean you don't have any friends.

The 2 people that I was in contact with are in the healthcare field. Outside of healthcare, I don't know of anyone either. It would be nice to see some real actual facts instead of so much hysteria. Could it be possible that a large majority of people testing positive are working in healthcare and those they are in contact with? I'm seeing more and more that the deaths are highly related to nursing homes.

I was tested and they did the same thing. No cotton on the end, though, or very minimal cotton. Made my eyes water but didn’t hurt.

Results were supposed to be back in three days. Fourth day they called and I’m negative.

                      Being tested again on Friday.

I got tested in late March. They used a 6 inch Q tip to go to the back of my throat. After 3 days the results came back negative. Lately, I've been thinking about that test as I listen to the large amount of false-negative test results that are being reported. I've seen many doctors suggest a false negative rate somewhere near 30%.

They tested me for both strains of the flu and it came back negative and I was pretty sure I had Covid 19 because I had all the symptoms, so when it came back negative, I was perplexed. There is another test I can take now to see if I have the Covid 19 antibodies in my system, not sure it means that much to me to get retested.

Hopefully your test comes back negative.
