French make good wines and champagne, russians give me quality vodka. They're good in my books.

In addition, the ?San Francisco Chronicle? has uncovered Iraqi documents in a Baghdad office of the Iraqi secret police that indicate that at least five Iraqi agents completed a two-week course in surveillance and eavesdropping in Moscow.
Meanwhile, recent discoveries in Iraq also seem to implicate France for providing assistance to Saddam?s regime. ?Newsweek? is reporting that U.S. forces in Iraq have found French-made missiles and a launcher that seemed to be produced within the past year. They also found radios used in military trucks, RPG night sights and a new Nissan pickup truck driven by an Iraqi officer.

How many american or british soldiers got killed because of their help?

Probably not as many as were killed by the weapons the UK were supplying to them for a very long while.

You mean they have't found them yet? I'm shocked!

Hmmmm...how much would you bet that were it the UK or USA invaded and searched there would have been truckfulls of them found at restricted/hidden military bases by now? But then we're probably allowed because of course we would only be studying them so that we have a defence against them

There goes my promise to myself to try not to get involved in threads about the invasion....oops sorry - 'war'.

Who's foreign, and foreign in relation to what? I may not be perfect with my native language, but then again I'm also not that stupid to post insults at others without being able to get very basic spelling correct myself.

There are no US supplied military planes, tanks, personell carriers, artillary, or even small arms or ammunition in Iraq...so what weapons are you speaking about.

YOUR FUCKING BUSTED!!!!!!!
The DUH! factor of this article astounds me frankly. Those that wanted to know already knew that the French and Russian gov'ts had been dealing under the table with Insane for well over a decade and actually engineered much of their military infrastructure. The only puzzling thing is why these POS "news" agencies hadn't brought the story to light sooner rather than later (e.g. after we kicked the shit outta Saddam).

If WMD is all y'all care about then take a chill for a little bit and let our military settle things down to the point that they can start really looking for them without fear of taking a 7.62mm round to the forehead - or worse. You folk that think that magically everything will become clear obviously have never had any kind of training or experience in matters of life and limb - specifically warfare. The forces in Iraq are still in mop-up mode. Once that's complete and they know things are secure THEN, and only THEN, will they get busy with the earnest search of suspected WMD sites.
If you had been paying serious attention to what's happening you'd already know that they've identified several stores of suspected WMD including an ammo store buried under the playground of an elementary school. CNN & Co. are all about ratings and selling advertising - you'll never get the real info from listening/watching their drivel.

sorry for the rant, I just get tired of seeing good folks being blinded by the Hollywood style news these days.

No point really.

USA won't allow Americans to be prosecuted for war crimes by the international war crimes tribunal, so I'm sure they don't want anyone else to be charged with war crimes? I mean, it's equal justice for everyone isn't it?

Do you think Bush is going to report that they have found nothing? EVERYTHING is a suspected WMD storage when it comes time to talk to the press.

The US government never supplied any weapons of war to Iraq at any point in time. American corporations did supply legal as well as illegal materials to Iraq...but no US weapons were ever supllied to Iraq. Most of the materials supplied to Iraq by private enterprise was dual use materials and Iraq chose to convert some of the dual use materials into weapons. When the US government learned about what Iraq was doing with some of the materials, certain materials were banned from sale by private enterprise. Even after the ban some companies still sold proscribed materials and they paid a consequence. Not ever did Iraq have US made war planes, tanks, personell carriers, artilllary, mortars, rockets, small arms, or ammunition etc.

Nope, just everything needed for the WMD's we are "looking" for. We didn't invade because of tanks and personell carriers.

Everyone's hands are dirty when it comes to Iraq. Everyones.

Every government on this planet is fucking corrupt and a power unto itself, directed and controlled by the greed and insatiable lust for power of the elite dispicable individual and corporate kabols of the world.

In the past that would have been a bit extreme for my views but these days I'll very much go with that. Posts of how great X government/country is and how shit another are these days just make me laugh.

Sure, France gave 'assistance' to Iraq, but so did the states! Hello? America is the country that funded Iraq in the war against Iran, remember? They used those same American -made planes against America in the first Gulf War, too. Let's not start finger pointing at this point, eh?

The bottom third is quite interesting.

Your post is at odds with the other right winger in this thread who said that we will find them eventually. Doesn't "find them eventually" really mean "they're on the way."

We should have just told Saddam to play nice and be a good boy. That would have solved the problem and I'm sure the Iraqi's would have rejoiced from their torture chambers.

"French made" does not mean the same as "supplied by France" or "supplied by the French government." Just read US newspapers and you'll see that the US Government isn't aware of every little thing made made in the US and sold to other countries or of how, in the end, it will be put to use.
