    Fuckin MORONS!!!

I decided, at around midnight that I would (for the first time EVER) reformat my computer.

WHAT THE HELL WAS I THINKING???? I must of called Gateway for help like 20 times (and my warranty is up...some refused to help me.)

This one fuckin Gateway guy FUCKED MY COMPUTER UP!! He was like "Go to START, CONTROL PANEL and.."....I was like "Umm, BUDDY!! I'm NOT IN FUCKIN WINDOWS!! MY COMPUTER IS WIPED OUT!!"

What a fuckin moron!! Anyways, its 6AM and I am just now going to bed. Surprisinly enough, I installed about 90% of what I needed to re-install already.

Next time, I think I'll just buy a computer, rather than format again! *Sigh*

First, why did you need to reformat? And second why was it so difficult? Does gateway have it's own weird software?

I mentioned once before that I don't even know how to change the oil in my car, but I know how to build a computer. Puter work can be fun, and exciting, call DeVry today! No wait, where was I? Oh yeah...

Reformatting is usually an easy thing to do. I decided to reformat when I loaded windows 2000 pro. and it worked out fine.

Do you ever build your own systems?

    ...just curious...

I'm sorry to hear about your problem Babagirls. I have a Gateway and I got the reinstallation disk for it, you just pop it in and let it run it's course. Uless maybe for some reason you didn't get one.

As far as tech support goes, I hate dealing with most forms of support because the people there actually don't know SHIT about what they're supposed to help you with, they just read it off of a screen or book, they don't know what the fuck they're telling you. Then they act like you're the stupid one, he he he.

Anyways, if you're on here, you must've gotten it taken care of, so that's good.

I have a Hewlett Packard with a Back up CD.. I have Restored it over 100 at least sence I got my comp.. Just Pop in the CD and poof its back to how it was when you bought it, except that none of your files get deleted.. Only had to reformat once.. I almost cried because of all the shit I lost .. heh .. Good luck with your gateway.

Reformating is the simplest thing to do,espicaly with a recovery disk. Most people treat computers like there cars, letting some 16 yo makeing min wage at a chain store chage there oil.

i had to do it 2 nights ago, cause my computer kept crashing.. I have a Pentium 4 1500 mhz 384 mbRam 80 gigs harddrive, and it kept fucking crashing..

But after using the back up recovery cd, it was fine!!

It was crashing beacuse of some fucked up components I installed from a program called imesh of downlads.com All my files are gone, but I saved em all, so it is much better now.. Gateway should have giving you a recovery disk.

I agree with Babagirls reformating is hard.
Windows doesn't make it easy. And most people reformat when something is wrong, so when they are reformating something is still wrong.

Microsoft is fucked up. I had to reinstall win98 like 5 times and it kept freezing during install, even though I had reformated the hard drive. finally I had to delete the partition. then install win2k.

Reformating, doesn't even delete everything, they keep something, cause that was causing the freezing. one i deleted the partition i was fine.

                  Pete Dogg,

that is EXACTLY what happend with mine!! I had to go and delete the partition ,THEN while installing Windows 98, my comp froze and I had to restart it, and then there were MORE problems. Finally, this girl at Gateway fixed ALL of my problems in about 10 mins!

I know exactly how you feel. I gave up dealing with Gateway "Tech Support" when one of my moron co-workers quit and got a job at Gateway as tech support. This individual has trouble playing minesweeper on the computer.
