    So My Step Dads Been Rushed Into Hospital With...

    Suspected appendicitis, he is pretty sick evidently - He has to be different - They live in Spain so it's bit of a nightmare - They have said fuck it and gone straight to a private hospital - Not sure it will make much difference but we will see...

    Mum's fucked - They live in the middle of nowhere in lockdown and she doesn't drive - I can't get back obviously - Oh what fun!....

      Sorry to hear that Eddy. An appendectomy is a pretty common surgery tho so hopefully everything turns out well.

          Thanks, I suspect he will be fine - It's just that this was the worry when I came over here - You can't just 'nip back' from New Zealand when there is a problem - They are in there 70's so it's going to happen more and more - I need to do some serious thinking about my next move.....

              Sorry to hear that Eddy and i can feel your pain / stuck feeling powerless in that situation.
              I have a daughter living the other side of the country and since the pandemic and flight restriction, if something would happen to her my only way to get there would be driving like for 4 - 5 days. No flying for me at this time .

              Wish him all the best and hopefuly he can get that surgery ASAP.

                      A friend of mine is a community care nurse so she can be out and about - I'm just trying to get hold of her ATM - I'm sure she will help and her husband has been laid off work so they will be grateful for a bit of extra cash...

                                              Appendicitis confirmed - They are going to whip it out today and home tomorrow as long as everything goes smoothly - So that's not too bad - Mum seems to have coped with the aid of a couple of bottles of wine - I just hope he doesn't bring anything home with him...

                                                  my parents are in their 80s and even though both are cancer survivors, I have to say I'm impressed at their health.
                                                  My brother is staying with Mom and my dad and my step mom have hightailed it to the mountains for a month in a fifth wheel.
                                                  I'm the only person that can't work remotely in the family so that's a load off!
                                                  Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants
