Dating What to look at when chosing which links to acquire/buy?

In adult niche, when you search for new links to acquire - what are the main factors that determine wether the link is 'good' or not?

I usually check if website is visible / has organic traffic + if it is topically related.

    Is there anything else?

Should we look at ahrefs metrics? If so, on a domain, or url level?

Is contextual link (surrounded by text or images related to the topic) 'better' than lets say sitewide link from the footer?

Will be grateful for any advice - want to start buying links to boost domain and SEO, but need some info before I dive into that

    Thanks,

Yes, if you can always get contextual link instead site-wide, or atleast link on header if seller does not support it.

It should be niche related and get some organic traffic.

Avoid footer links and sites with too many outgoing links.

Anyway natural looking backlink profile includes all kind of links, even "nofollow", it's all about the right balance.

There are already a few good tips here and also some tips that are simply not correct.

Some people really don't know what they're talking about.
Such as "Avoid footer links". Just too ridiculous for words.

A footer link on site "A" can be much better for seo than a header link on site "B". (and vice versa).

Of course, those selling footer links will tell you that you can still benefit from them but in fact, G almost ignores them nowadays.

                You are both absolutely wrong.

With all due respect, I assume you both have sites with tens of thousands of Google traffic per day?

Again what you say is not correct. Every site is different.
Sometimes footer links are worth nothing (absolutely nothing) and sometimes they have 10 times more value than some header links on other sites.

And that google almost ignores footerlinks nowadays .... Where do you get that nonsense?

There is a reason why the biggest porn sites with huge SE traffic ALWAYS ask for a header placement when acquire links. They won't accept footer links no matter how quality and authoritative your site is. I think they know what they are doing, they get millions of visits daily from G.

A header link has the added benefit of traffic clicks. Footer links have less traffic.

That said its also important to know what you are doing with the Words being used to link to your site.
