He really wanted to be. But he wasn't - a surprise... like Ruger SP101 :winkwink:

P.S. When we speak about .22LR, we speak about a single shot card-sized toy, which needs about a minute to be reloaded. You said you are an instructor. Do you understand what we are talking about?

If that’s what your comfy with that’s what you carry....

Personally I’m a Sig guy....

Glock is good, Kimber is good, sig is good....

Hi point - ehhhhhh but if that’s what your most comfy with then carry it

Have to agree about the 22, aim for the eye, no skull behind it and it just rattles around in there

Next time I get out my flintlocks, I'll give you a call, the whole gun range stops shooting when I let them loose, 69 caliber and have about 8 or 9 feet of flame coming out.

So, educate yourself: Crime Comparison Between Moscow, Russia And Los Angeles, CA, United States. Safety Comparison.

6.3 for LÁ versus 6.1 for Moscow. You saw his response. It was a mistake not a violent crime. You live in similar violence based on murder rate. Amd FYI, LÁ is over our national average.

They have several cars and have a class you can take assembling one of their cars.
What I like about this car is using a 2005 Vette, those are pretty cheap.

I love this pistol, but I would get the Griswold version instead because of the all-brass frame and the round barrel. Otherwise it's identical.

Once again: national averages for homicide in Russia and the USA are the same. Both are about 5.1 (have no idea who told you that ours is twice higher). However, the States have no Northern Caucasus, which is included into the statistics. So the big cities in Central Russia are generally safer than the US ones.

No. Course if you live in a wooden cabin, it will be really good but in a brick or a concrete house it may easily kill the shooter (you). I don't know which houses you live in Australia, but in Russia most of the people live in houses made of reinforced concrete. A 7.62 AK47 bullet is a very risky thing inside.

great quote about guns:

“Guns are completely inappropriate for the kind of sheep-like people the anointed envision or the orderly, prepackaged world in which they are to live. When you are in mortal danger, you are supposed to dial 911, so that the police can arrive on the scene some time later, identify your body, and file reports in triplicate.”

Many countries have them and Russia of course. But we have do separate a war zone and a criminal place. Here in Russia we have a real war on the Northern Caucasus. Please click this link: anti-terror operation - YouTube - this is not some street brawl. These are military operations and course all the victims are counted and added to the average homicide ratio of the whole country, which is absolutely same as the homicide ratio in the States. Tha's why I was a bit surprised why someone says it's two times higher here.

wonder why a war is listed in homicide rates? makes no sense really

Because formally there is no war in Russia. There is officially an anti-terror operation against radical Islamists. It's considered just like a police operation, but if you watch the videos, you'll see that's not so. That's a real military operation. Lot's of people die and course it's a part of the homicide rate for the country. However this happens far-far away from the Central Russian cities. That's like a country inside a country...

P.S. You can also see the two Chechen wars in Russia here as well: Crime in Russia - Wikipedia - check it by the year. Since it was an internal (civilian) war, the killed people are considered as victims of homicide.

I can't read Russian, but this looks like a simulation.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMTcDI0Vqms

Why are the soldiers wearing white arm bands?
I see lots of gunfire, but I see no bullets hitting anywhere. Looks like blanks.
The explosives used look and sound very weak, like artillery or grenade simulators.
A guy fires 2 antitank rockets, but no rockets come out. Sounds more like a small caliber handgun round.
A guy tosses a concussion grenade (flash bang) in the door, but that's the weakest result I've ever seen from a real one.

No bodies hit the ground. That was a lot of action for nobody to get hit. Not even any screaming. Unless they are well disciplined and die quietly. Mogadishu was nothing like that.

Nobody had a sense of urgency. Kind of like, ok lets do this and have some soup afterwards. It's cold out here.

You are watching a wrong video. Watch these:

Need more? There are 100's of such videos on youtube. Lots of them have lots of dead bodies, so I'm trying no to post them to don't hurt people with weak hearts (you know there are many of them at GFY).

Doesn't it look like a real military (non-police) operation? That's why the murder rate in Russia is exactly same as in the USA. Because all people killed there do affect to the overall statistics. However, as I said above, the big cities in Central Russia are much more safe than the US ones.

This is a militarized police force? Or is this Russian military? Are they going after Muslims?

Thanks to Obama, our police became very militarized since he authorized military weapons and vehicles to be passed down to local police, every police department was submitting applications for the new equipment like MRAPs, hummers, M4's, kevlar helmets and body armor, night vision and everything just short of tanks, attack helicopters, and rocket launchers.

These are Spetsnaz (watch the Discovery video about them). The same units were assaulting the Amin's palace during the Storm-333 operation. Here in Russia we have no strict rule on (once again: watch the Discovery video) who they should be called. They are professional (non drafted ones) soldiers and they are absolutely universal. As I said, there is no strict graduation for them.

As about Muslims, so course no. The Muslim religion is the 2nd religion after Christianity in Russia. I've grown up in a Muslim city of Russia and I have a lot of Muslim buddies from there. So these are military operations against radical Islamists (ISIS, etc), who are different to Muslims... because they are radicals.

P.S. In my city the Muslim kids were knocking the doors to get eggs at Christian Easter, while I was celebrating the Muslim Kurban Bayram. I'm an atheist BTW. We always lived in piece - Christians and Muslims. The orthodox Christian church and Mosque stay together:

https://russiancouncil.ru/upload/ibl.../toler0_1_.jpg

I've posted this video already, but here it is again, just to show who they are (police of military units):

They work against terrorists in Russians and they do their military missions in other countries as well. They use heavy weapons, rocket launchers, tanks etc. So who they are?

And you are wrong, because even taking into account all those military operations the murder rate in Russia is the same as in the States. Literally. You have no military operations, but have the same murder rate because of street gangs.

I know the thread has derailed into something about Russia, but as a non-gun owner I went to the range and tried a bunch of the popular handguns hoping to like the one I thought looked coolest...

My favorite ended up being a Rhino revolver which surprised me, felt nice to shoot, easy to reload, and I was the most accurate with it.
