      Even the awfull BG music could NOT cover his lack of ability to sing. Others ( like Linda Ronstadt) quit before it was too late...Sad

                  I was growing up when Van Halen started getting popular. Dave has never been above an average singer even on his best day. He was known for his showmanship.

                  You have to fast forward to the Sammy Hagar era to get Van Halen with a great singer.
