    Is everybody moving to Phoenix?

I know several webmasters already live there, I have some clients and family there and was looking at houses there. Then I happened to notice several people on my facebook (no, you can't be on my friendlist) and a few more people from here have mentioned Phoenix over the past few days.

What the fuck is going on?

But really, there has always been a lot of people there; that's how the Phoenix Forum started.

lots of people moving from Calif. I'm thinking of moving to Kern county, only about 20 miles from where I live now.

Phoenix was fucking horrible. I hated it.

Everything there is fucking ugly. LOL @ "desert landscaping". That's just a creative way of saying "your front lawn is gravel". It's brutally hot - in the summer 110 was routine, and it got even higher. I remember my AC didn't go off for months at a time. Then you have monsoons and dust storms - walls of dust hundreds of feet tall and miles wide.

The cost of living there used to be cheap. We had a brand new custom built five bedroom house with a pool for $220k. Now.... Not so much.

I'll stay in California. I love where I live. Great weather, no traffic, no crime.

I always avoid Phoenix by taking the 8, the traffic is terrible there.
But in California, you can start paying a tax if your not insured .
So I'm moving further away from California
Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants
                              think about that

I am sorry, but I-8 is so slow compared to 10; unless you have to go to Yuma that is not a cost efficient route.

By truck it's a lot faster during peak traffic times. If I'm going thru in the middle of the night, it's different.
Using the i85 to the i8 then coming out at casa grande is much faster .
Plus I get delivers in Casa Grande all the time, there is a Walmart Distribution Center there .
Where the 8 hits the 10 there is a bunch of truck stops too!

I am a fast driver and even I had to slow down, in the daytime, on parts of that highway. It is scenic, but that's about it.

I just checked Google maps and it is more than an hour longer and 80 miles from my house to Phoenix; so ... guess it depends where you are going.

Like I said, if you have to go somewhere on the 8 .... BTW, Casa Grande to my house is a half hour faster and 30 miles shorter taking the 10.
