I kind of felt this way about the last Star Wars movie... The droids have a map. Haven't they done that bit already?
There is so many things they can do with this franchise that it's mind boggling. The Mandalorian is one great example. It's not difficult.... Make a show called "Mos Eisley Spaceport" and create some new characters. Or, "Cloud City" - what happened to Cloud City after Lando Calrissian left? Or just create an entirely new ship - larger than the Millennium Falcon with a crew of five or six people - and have a new group of space pirates or something simlar to Galaxy of the Guardians.
There is so much they can do here.... And instead they keep milking the same exact theme.
I always wonder what exactly people mean when they say too much recycling.
I also wonder what people would have said if the 9th movie that is supposed to end the whole saga would have had a completely different story and different characters?
If something bothered me about IX, then it was the sometimes cringe worthy dialogues and a couple too obvious plot holes.

Other than that it's great popcorn cinema.
Well, if you would delete old movies from your memory then it would be good
It was a good film - Was it as magical as the original Star Wars at 8 years old sitting in the old cinema on the high street? - Not even close - That's the problem, it would be impossible to replicate that today...
