Free or cheap self hosted video storage option
I'm looking into starting a small tube style site with my own videos and am trying to decide where to store the video files.
I'm concerned about bandwidth issues if I use my web hosting service for storing the videos and also because I recall that many web hosts don't allow tube sites, at least for their lower cost plans. Some of the ideas I've already searched are the Amazon Cloud Service, Dropbox and Google Drive but I'm not sure if any of these would be good for the smaller type site I have in mind. I'm anticipating around 1,000 hits a day. Just wondering if anyone here at GFY has looked into this and found a good solution. |

You need a dedicated server+enough BW or a CDN service with a storage.

Get a cheap ass VPS from OVH and let us know how it went -> https://www.ovh.com/ca/en/vps/vps-ssd.xml 4.49$/mo (unmanaged!). They advertise them as with 'Unlimited traffic' for servers except Sydney / Singapore.

The MojoHost/Mechbunny suggestion is too expensive for what I have in mind. The OVH option is interesting so I'll look into that.
Still hoping there might be a free option though. I don't have a ton of videos and don't expect a huge amount of traffic. Mainly doing a niche site for a very targeted audience. |

OVH has great value offer but you definitly need to have a solution to manage your server + Keep in mind that their support is quite poor - thankfully, they rock so you shouldn't need them much.

Get a dedicated server from nocix.net (100TB bandwidth, 50mbps, starting at 20$) and setup vestacp on that server...
