    Scandalous threads on WebHostingTalk uncovered over 15 scam hosts who suddenly decided to close operations (no refunds), giving customers 3 days to move out, with a vague notice on Friday to be gone today. What a crazy world.

          Too bad.. Cpanel price updates might be one key factor.. The other being over saturation in hosting business.

                          Many are convinced it was a pre-prepared scam-and-run scenario. There were allegedly huge black Friday deals on all of these sites making sales at ridiculous prices, and many of these companies offered cheap yearly plans.

                          One takeaway from that WHT thread are these red flags:
                          - no business registration info/physical contact data ("ghost hoster")
                          - no actual names/real-life persons available to contact (always the "Management" or something similar)
                          - long-term offers at too low price
                          - very frequent offers "with amazing discounts"

                              Saw that too. There are tons of great providers even in the $10/month range. Don't mess around with anything cheaper than that.
