    A day in the life of...

    I'm just wondering what you all get up to in a typical day of webmastering. I'm pretty new to this and so it's a learning experience to say the least.

    Today I build my first free site, took me hours to submit it. Now I'm checking the boards... damn these are addictive!

    I'm working on a plan of 1 free site, 1 AVS site and 1 tgp page per day. Does that sound reasonable?

    Oh btw, I've been running Jensel Thumbnails ( http://www.bestsexhost.net/links/ ) since December. Getting pretty good traffic... 1,500/day average. I'm finding it a chore to update it... it takes absolutelyfucking ages to review! So it hasn't been done for a few days.

    Now... what do y'all get up to each and every day?

    Any anyone doing this full time... do you ever give yourself a day off?

      Hey Jensel,

      Sounds like a good plan for making money, I don't know if I could make an AVS site a day (mine always got too big)

      I get up around 2pm, work until 8 or so - then watch TV or go out or something.

      I sometimes take a day off but most the time I update every day. I think the knowledge that I can take a day off whenever I want makes the actual day off less important to me. I think the reason we hate to work is because we don't have a choice - being a pornmaster offers me such freedom I enjoy the working.

          For the past three days I've had the freehost fall over twice, two five hour power cuts ( the first in decades !! )

          Of course there's the
          tgp submit url's going straight to paysites,
          tgp submit url's that no longer exist
          tgp submit url's that now ban your freehost

          Pretty much a normal weekend !

              You certainly can do all 3 of those in a day if your going for quanity and not quality. There are arguments on both sides as to which is more profitable. Most people think that the more sites you have the better the chances you will be making money. If one basic site makes 25 cents a day and you have 2000 sites, well you do the math. But what if you have 50 sites that are done well and make $10 a day? Same amount of money. It's just a personal preference, what you enjoy doing the most and what you are personally more successful at designing (AVS, AVS Gold, Free, TGP, etc.)

              My preference? Do quality, take your time do it right and just do it day after day, month after month. Pretty soon you will have quality sites, designed well, marketed well and a shit load of them. Works out well for me anyhow. There are many others on this board that take the quanity route and do very well.

                      I get up in the morning, 9am-11am, read my mails, check stats and the boards, then i start on building two TGP galleries and one movie gallery. I submit them then start doing some reviews for a large TGP. Then if i still have time i build a freesite and put an AVS front door on it. Submit it to the linksites AVS's and DMOZ. I try to stick to this plan everyday...seems to be doing well so far.
