how scalable is the goth niche?

i know similar questions have been asked before. oh well.

do you think a very high quality goth-themed paysite can be scaled up beyond a small membership base? has it become mainstream enough? does general adult traffic convert well enough with the goth niche to grow a large membership base?

just curious what everyone thinks

yup
ugh
depends on the traffic

Email me at [email protected] or hit me up on icq at 337070007 if you've got special or whale traffic and I'd be glad to help you test your stuff.

I have to admit, I have wondered this myself. So far, growth has been good-- but nothing on the scale of quiet's site or other big mainstream adult sites. I certainy think now is the time when people will be finding out. I am optimistic.

Python just launched one so might want to ask some one over there.

I would say rather than just doing goth a "suidide girls" style site would cover a few more alternative niches and get a bigger audience.

could be profitable as hell. might not see the topline revenue of a hardcore type site, but the margins should be nice.

yeah but realize that there isn't much content out there for goth/punk/alternative/suicidegirls niche - so you're definitely going to be shooting your own content or paying somebody to shoot it.

can't get retention out of a gothy design, 20 gothy photosets and then a bunch of the usual plugins.

. . . but, if you have existing traffic, with no additional investment, ya could make bank promoting http://www.gothicsluts.com/ and http://www.barelyevil.com/

I'm biased, but you can get paid from my investment

Excelent question!

I wouldnt have the money to promote that niche personally as i think the content is more expensive and limited than say "teen" or even "balloon"

But i was also curious about the niche .... seems like it would be exciting to promote it, i aways imagined it did well since not as many people will push it.

It's just a fad for kids... Part of the goth life is poverty anyway...

Do you think this guy can afford a $29.95 membership?

Mutt - put that girl on a richer background that contrasts with her skin, so that she doesn't seem to fade into it. And give her some nice clothing that dresses up the features she has. All nude she's not that much, but with the right sexy, teasing clothing and the proper background she'd be spanking.
