Locally, there was a man accused of rape and sodomy here a few weeks ago. Apparently he met his 14 year old victim through an internet chat room.

After the incident, one of our local news stations aired a 5 part series on the dangers of internet porn. The series made the adult industry look so evil and vile. A general stereotype was made while showing clips of FBI raids on homes of child ponorgraphers.
They kept showing clips of agents seizing computer equipment, video tapes, photos etc.

It scarred me to death! What if someone were to find out I run pornsites from my home? Would the authorities raid my home and sieze my computers? Would my name be I be in the local paper?

Although I believe it's good that the media covers the harm of child porn...I feel they take it too far with their poor reporting and half ass investigating.

As for the poor reporting of the media, has anyone ever heard of the web site perfectshotsvideo.com? Yes, the site is sick. He films women, usually topless, in fake snuff scenes. The scenes are nothing worse then what you might see in an R Rated movie, as there is no sex or pornography involved, but since it is low budget and run from a web site, and fairly well done (the special effects), it really gets people riled up.

Well the RCMP came across his site and thought they found themselves a genuine snuff filmer. Of course the media just ran with that and made this person look as evil as they come. You can check out some of the hardships he is going through on his site. Since they couldn't get him on the snuff, they simply accused him of being involved in child porn, interrogated his kids, and generally made his life a living hell, all because they were offended by what was on his site. (All of which was perfectly legal.)

Just one example of the media, and law enforcement, abusing their power.

Good question. Either those cops are the epitomy of stupidity, or else they were just so offended by what they seen that they decided to rake this poor guy's name through the mud no matter what the cost. (ie. lying to the public)

There was a webmistress in the mid 90's (webmistress may not be the right handle), she owned a fairly large adult BBS and had some of her own pics posted. (Non nudes!) She hadn't the last time we had talked to her 18 months after the raid!

If they got ahold of info like that who knows what they could twist it in to. And the cops will surely listen to that dept in ANY state, country or province. We just got done backing our content, sites, pages and all on to a new HD and stored it somewhere safe. lol 150 bucks isn't much to guarentee your work.
