I like the way these guys show the whole World how the American business work.

A week days ago I have finally upgraded my Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 Pro. The upgrade was almost smooth. I say almost that I had to remove the USB Wifi adapter during the upgrade process because otherwise I was getting an unknown error in netr28ux.sys and the upgrade has failed every time. But this is not a problem because for the ass-handed m$ fags it's a barely noticeable issue. It looked like this:

But ok, I have finally upgraded and it worked well after that till today. Because today I was checking a bootable version of Linux and changed my HDD to an USB device in BIOS. Then when I loaded Windows, it told me that the system is not activated. When I tried to activate it, it told me that looks that I have changed some hardware, so the activation is impossible and I have to buy a new copy of Windows.

Course then I have changed USB and HDD in BIOS back as they were before. The activation process have moved further and I was asked for an activation key. I have entered my Windows 7 Pro key and... was told it's not a Windows 10 key, so I have to buy a new copy. WTF???

Ok, I have called them by phone and they say they don't work today. I'm working 7 days a week, but a huge corporation have no personnel for a weekend? Really?

The robot on phone told me to send an email to [email protected]. So I did, but my email was bounced with the following message:

Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups:

[email protected]
The recipient's mailbox is full and can't accept messages now. Please try resending your message later, or contact the recipient directly.

Planning to switch to Win10 soon as well but definitely not looking forward to it. I think about a Fresh install instead, I don't trust Windows upgrades (the current Win7 is running for almost 6 years now)

windows 20 or whatever they decide to call it is a dream, I've been running the betas. So if you concerned about 10 maybe wait for the next version out in 2020

Shouldnt win10 be the last thing for some time now? (so just minor and major upgrades will come out for it)

I kind had a similar experience, i tried to get clean windows install cd instead using recovery cd, because recovery cd coming with tons of bloatware slowing down extremely. First i called microsoft support, they sent me to manufacturer, and manufacturer said how i need to use recovery cd(despite saying how i have them already and dont want them), so had to get clean cd from somewhere else, used activation key which i had on my laptop and it worked fine. But in shortly, microsoft is joke of company.

Since 1989, I used Windows (beginning with DOS and Windows 3.1) and I've used Mac since 1995... went full MacOS since 2005, never had a single issue with MacOS ever.

MS has been a UX nightmare for a very long time. Newly developed and legacy systems alike. It's like as if every single time they had to make a product decision by choosing 1 from 10 approaches, without fail, they manage to pick the absolute worst one every single time.

I encountered a forced upgrade yesterday. I had no choice and didn't agree to the install. It just happened while my back was turned.
Anyway, the upgrade took over 5 hours and then it came up with a message saying it was taking a little longer than expected.
Finally it installed but now decides to shut itself down automatically without cause every 15 minutes.
Prior to shutting down, it comes up with the message "locked".

I restarted about 5 times. Unplugged and now it seems to be ok.

I have like 9 or 10 PCs & laptops with Windows 10 and all I do is update when necessary.

Never upgrade from Win7 to Win10, it's just grief. Do a fresh install of Win10 Pro. I just replaced Win10 on my Laptop with Peppermint Linux. Very nice, but I don't know jackshit about Linux. You can't win for losing.

I bought a new laptop which came preinstalled with Win10.

Had to get help from a friend to figure out how to bypass Microsoft's insistence that I create an online account just to be able to use my computer. He told me to create a local administrator account, which allowed me to create a normal user account, and ultimately complete the setup without needing to log into a Microsoft online account.

The laptop isn't used for much, but my desktop is another matter... so glad I didn't decide to "try" the free Win10 upgrade there.
