CCBill just asked me to whitelist a Serbian IP address

    CCBill just asked me to whitelist a Serbian IP address

    Thrown in the middle of a Scottsdale, AZ range of IP addresses, was one Serbian IP.
    I don't know, but my relationship with CCBill is based on trust because they are an American company, I personally don't feel comfortable having someone in Serbia doing work on my server.

      That is so racist lol. Serbia has been popular destination lately for outsourcing as workforce is very cheap there.

          this has nothing to do with race, as Serbians are as white (or whiter) than Americans.
          But I trust CCBill, which is an American companies, and I know which laws it's bound by.
          I know nothing about Serbia, and I did not engage the services of a Serbian company to handle my payouts 20 years ago. I engaged an American company.

          By the way, last night I asked them to protect a directory for one of my new sites. The members area was working fine. This morning I wake up, and the whole site is error 500. Not inspiring a lot of confidence in me.

              Everyvone now outsource workforce, doubt you will find a single company which is fully 100% local.
              And ccbill is in quality decline for years, that happens when you live on your old glory.

                          Are you sure its in Serbian? if its part of a CDN, it will tell you a location depending on where you ask from, based on what BGP rules have been set up.

                                  That explain it. But this is probably full ip ranges, including all developers regardless where they are located.

                                          CCBill logs in for testing now via Serbian-based VPN IP addresses.
                                          In fact, it's been like that for at least a few years.

                                          I'm not sure if the tech staff is actually there or not.
