Feedback wanted on website

Hi all,

As you can tell I'm pretty new here. One month ago I have launched my new startup called NSFWSauce.com

In brief period of time I managed organically get 965 registered users and about 38K unique visitors. I believe this is not bad considering I have spent $0 on marketing and most of the traffic is organic.

Website idea is fairly simple, users upload short pr0n videos they find online, other users find sauce (source) to full video link. Have not really though about monetization yet as that is not primary objective.

My goal is to grow this startup to significant user base and sell it.

I feel that I'm onto something with this one as I have never had a website that would grow so easy organically.

Would love to hear some feedback from you guys. Do you like the idea, brand, design etc.

Thanks

The site looks nice and clean. I dig the ".gif-like" approach to the vids.

Great name and a great concept.

I'm assuming it's based off the horny Reddit bois who demand a "sauce" for EVERY GIF/Webm that gets posted lol.

Site loads fast and is easy to use on desktop. Keep it up, I'll be rooting for you to succeed!

Your "How it works?" button does not do anything, at least not for me.

Looks like you just have it linked back to the home page.

I like the site and the concept.

The free user base will not be worth anything, you will only be able to sell the site on an X months revenue multiple

Well if that userbase generates the content and engages on the site I believe it's still worth something. So far I noticed that user return rate is fairly high. So having 20k registered users would guarantee 10k unique visits per day.

Let me get this straight. Somebody uploads a short clip, then somebody else uploads or posts a link to a "free" full video. Am I correct ?

I think the site will become success, continue adding content, maybe even start some link building, probably 3x or 10x your users quick! Especially once your SE grows. Great job man!

I like it. Not too fond of the all black design but it's fine. It's hot and sexy and dirty.

not necessary free, I'm happy for amateur content creators to link to paid content too.
But idea is that you are looking for video source, other helps you find it or tell you who the porn star in given video is.

But it's not necessary how you must use the site, you can simply browse.

BTW reached 1,2k registered users today.

1. There is no button to create a post on mobile, or I couldn't find it.

2. This requires the user to first upload the content on gyfcat and then post the link on your site. Wouldn't be a problem if you are solely targeting Reddit users but this seems short-sighted imo. And why would they waste time to post it on your site when they can just ask right there in Reddit...
At least allow users the option to upload the video directly.

3. I don't see actually user engagement so it's hard to believe that users will come back in the long term when the site isn't deliverying for them. So the only benefit your site offer the user right now is a collection of porn content which is available everywhere.

This could be a great site in the porn category if there were dedicated fans who were providing the source for the videos, but building an audience that actively comes on your site to find source for others sounds infeasible or extremely difficult to say the least.
Maybe you could have a points system that rewarded users that provided source but that's hardly an incentive to do free work. I wish you luck with your site.

Thanks for solid feedback.

1. This will be amended soon.

2. This is still MVP version of the product to test the idea out, so in the future we will have API that will allow to upload to gfycat thru us.

3. Users do engage, primarily via upvotes, then secondary via finding sources and lastly through comments. We only have 1200 registered users so far and we still missing critical mass of users to find sources accurately.

The fact that users register and return to the site is what validates the idea in the first place, at the moment there were 240 sauces submitted by users. In terms of rewards/incentive I do have some ideas for that, but that's also second stage of development.

You're both right - sort of.

If you don't plan to show many, if any, ads until you exit, make absolute sure you save the e-mails. If you have a site that has say, 100k visits daily but hardly any ad revenue and 2.5 million DOI e-mails from user registrations, then you have value.

100k visits with no revenue and no other value (emails, for example), hardly anyone in adult will touch it.

Hit me up on Skype: trevesty

May be able to help give you a lil' boost, but there's a catch.

Even with 100k the income will be low, assume a hit rate of 1-10k visits. That's a top end return of $300 on the advertiser end and 1-10k visits is generous. What's his cut going to be, $5 a 1k clicks.

Today to make a good living in porn you need millions.

You're mostly a media buyer now, right? I dabble with that a little bit, but I make 90% of my income from actual sites still.

I think you and I used to traffic trade many, many, many moons ago.

So all your tube sites get a total off 100k a day and you make a good living.

What do you consider a good living?

100k a day = 10k clicks at best = $50 a day. Not what I call a good living.

Yes I live on a private pension from the money I made shooting content, but still can do basic maths.

Of coarse if you owned 10 tubes each getting 100k that would make $500 a day which is a nice living but not affluent.

So Stop talking.

Yes i am 100% media buyer for last 4 years. And i used to have 200k daily TGP network but i let most of domains to expire as traffic went down after numerous algorithm, updates which killed all old school sites.
If you have decent traffic, are you willing to sell segmented traffic?

Honestly, I have private deals with the big kahuna for pops and pretty good relationship with Exo for the other spots. I am far too lazy to setup my own ad server and be smart about it.

I'm wondering Paul, have you owned blogs, tgps, tubes? if you have, did they get traffic, and were they success or failure? did these sites taste a nice run with solid SE traffic?

I run sites, live comfortable, and don't have anywhere near millions users/day.

It would blow his mind that some blogs with 500-1000 visits per day make a few hundred bucks per day. But he's really good at basic math.

So tell us how many hits would a Tube need to return a good living today. Educate us all as trevesty is unwilling to do so.

And do tell us what percentage of SE traffic is required.

So far I'm the only one putting out figures on what is required, while other say nothing.

Anyone who knows anything knows that your figures are completely wrong in the first place.

If you're only making $0.50 per k on a tube site, then you are pretty bad at monetization and traffic generation.

Either way, you're not my wife, the IRS or my accountant.

The OP and I have established a pretty good business relationship privately. I wouldn't even begin to share anything at all with dip shits like you and the other has beens on GFY.

It's also hilarious that you think you have any idea what decent figures for a tube are given that you've never owned one successfully.

Hopefully one day the new powers that be start getting rid of all you has beens, otherwise GFY will keep dying a slow, painful death since STM and other forums actually add value.
