Business Will Rankbrain deprecate the value of backlinks in adult like it did in mainstream?

I'm not claiming that LINKS are completely irrelevant now.

No one is crazy enough to make that claim.

Links are still used by Google's ALGO

Still, given how fast RANKBRAIN evolved and effectively factored in User Experience, do you think it will have a strong impact on adult SERPS?

Is it only a matter of time?

Well, i watch rankings of other sites so i will notice if sites with high backlink profile will suddenly start to decline. But not sure will there be real change,as adult site offer more less same experience since tube is dominating site format.

If i look throught the current DACH Serps, i am afraid that it has something to do with any algo.
I would not be surprised if Google outsources or even sells the Adult Quality Rating or even the Adult SERPS to a player on the porn market.
And if it's really an algo, then it's one that's not very friendly to porn sites and after a short or longer period of time,
every adult search term will be replaced by Adsense websites.

I don't understand the original post.

Is there a suggestion that Google ranks results differently for adult?

If that is the suggestion then it's wrong.

That's what they say, tho there was such theories before. For example, do you remember when people were asking how come not a single porn site have bigger PR then 5 compared to mainstream sites ?

A lot of people misunderstood or still misunderstand PageRank.

I believe Google still use PageRank but it's one of a number of signals that end up determining the ranking of indexed results.

There's never been any suggestion that Google keeps a seperate index for adult sites, presuming that Google does not keep a seperate index for adult sites then there should be no different treatment to adult sites as there is mainstream sites.

Google is very good at detecting adult sites though, so I would be reasonably confident that everything in the Google index is categorised, thus providing a basis for safe search.

I think you opened a very good topic for discussion here.

I remember Matt Cutts once referred to adult websites by saying that people tend to visit a lot of porn websites but they don't tend to link to porn websites.

So there must be some SEO difference between adult and mainstream, either an algorithm difference or simply a behavioral difference.
