Nice travelling! Will look at Costa Rica when i am back in South America.

Now travelling like that for 8 years, wish i started earlier
This year already went to:

- Jamaica (not a nice country)
- Thailand
- 1 month Cambodia
- Now in Vietnam since 2 months
- Will go to see the rest of Cambodia in 2 weeks
- Planning to see some friends in Thailand again in november/december
- Christmas probably Philippines or India till the summer starts in Europe.

Planning to buy a car and travel around Europe for 6 - 9 months next year.
As European haven't seen France, Italy and Portugal yet, will look there.

That was a mistake of me, not travelling earlier cause of a girlfriend.
The girlfriend isn't worth waiting for it, you will meet many many many many other, nicer, hornier, prettier girlfriends on the way if she doesn't want to go.
Better is to start alone, to explore things you wouldn't do if you have a girlfriend.

Local girlfriends are better to get around and see places no tourist comes. And learn the language in the same time.

Maybe have a beer than

I always go some months to South America and than Asia for some months. Both are great and different. I wouldn't stay in Puerto Vallarta, Cancun or Playa del Carmen too long. I avoid places where are a lot of 2-3 week holiday makers. I prefer 'hippie/backpacker' style beaches before the tour groups start getting there. If there is an international airport within 2 hours, most places are ruined.
If you haven't visited it yet, Bahia part in Brazil is great and my favourite destination.

Australia's a great hub to start exploring Asia. Hong Kong at Christmas time is a blast! It's more Christmasy than most places in America and their robotic Christmas trees music show on the street is awesome!

My only regret was I didn't travel around more before I settled down and had a family.

I am in Mexico and even staying in the city i said i wouldn't stay. Many many many many digital nomads here. Also many went to Dubai. Glad i didn't get locked up in Europe.

Thanks Chris! I think we PM'ed when you and me were in Playa? I'm back in the US now. Back for 3 years but I'm ready to leave! The problems with the US are not just with Louisiana. I'm in Michigan and hate it here. It is very true, that life here is the same thing day in and day out, except that the complaints of the populace change over time. It's time to hit the road! 1 more month until my final vaccination.

We visited Costa Rica in 2019 and fell in love with the country. Hoping to go back later this year. It's a dream/long term goal to move there in a few years.

Here's what I know, never heard of the holiday tax:
"Portugal issues a temporary resident visa for independent workers and entrepreneurs for a period of up to 5 years and tax breaks for up to 10. The main documents are proof of income from movable or immovable property, or intellectual property, or financial applications. Digital nomads can apply for a D7 visa after proving regular income. The monthly income must be higher than the national minimum wage (600€/month x 14 months). If you have dependent family members, this figure rises and you have to consider +50% for the wife and +30% for each child. Processing fees: 90 euros."

Basically, all you have to do is prove a location-independent ongoing income of over 600 EUR/month.

It's funny that this clearly states "dependent" would specifically be the wife... they could have used "spouse"... oh well.

As digital nomad better set up something in a flexible country so you are able to move to other countries without setting up a new company every time. For many Dutch people it is easier/cheaper to set up a Dutch company than to try something for example with a Estonian Digital Nomad Visa. Only if staying a few years in 1 place it could be interesting. But don't you want to live on a beach in Thailand some months. Or in Buenos Aires. In the end i mostly avoid digital nomads groups. Looks like they miss the office and all gather in a sort of office they than call co-workspace.

People now also can stay on Curacao for 6 months to 1 year as digital nomad. Not now, cause they advice to stay away and go away cause hospitals are full.
