Why would someone who brags about serving in the military not list it on their resume

Why wouldn't a person who brags here about his service non-stop list his experience in the service on his resume?

There is zero doubt in my mind that Vendzilla was in fact in the Navy, and zero dobut in my mind he was in fact a submariner.

Vendzille's resume on Linkedin is not a "full resume". He just slopped it together. My resume on Linkedin doesn't mention my military service; In fact, it only mentions my two most recent positions. I am not a big Linkedin person; I just put the bare minimum into that.

If you want to poke fun at Vendzilla, that's fine. But let's not make up lies about his military service. That's not cool.

Most of the time I forget I served until someone in my family says "thank you for your service" on Veteran's day. I get a text every year from an uncle thanking me. I'll answer back "you're welcome?"

I served during Desert Storm, so that makes me a veteran of that war but I don't think about myself that way since I wasn't crawling in the desert firing a rifle. I serviced aircraft that went over there. That's all.

But anyway... I don't understand people who brag about serving. A guy I lift with is an ex-marine who has had trigger time. He doesn't get all gung-ho about having killed people while he was there. The most he said about it was that he once had a really bad day where he was covered in the blood of four of his buddies.
