So New Orleans floods again, another record breaking storm but GW is Fake News...

Yet another record breaking storm, with massive flooding once again, yet another 100 year flood event.. Meanwhile, Republicans and dumbtards still think Global Warming is fake news... It's all just a coincidence that exactly what scientists said GW would cause is actually happening.. Nothing to see here totally random events...

Yeah, but climate change definitely affects weather:

https://climate.nasa.gov/effects/

Quote:
Changes in Precipitation Patterns

Average U.S. precipitation has increased since 1900, but some areas have had increases greater than the national average, and some areas have had decreases. More winter and spring precipitation is projected for the northern United States, and less for the Southwest, over this century.

Projections of future climate over the U.S. suggest that the recent trend towards increased heavy precipitation events will continue. This trend is projected to occur even in regions where total precipitation is expected to decrease, such as the Southwest.

Quote:
Hurricanes Will Become Stronger and More Intense

The intensity, frequency and duration of North Atlantic hurricanes, as well as the frequency of the strongest (Category 4 and 5) hurricanes, have all increased since the early 1980s

The intensity, frequency and duration of North Atlantic hurricanes, as well as the frequency of the strongest (Category 4 and 5) hurricanes, have all increased since the early 1980s. The relative contributions of human and natural causes to these increases are still uncertain. Hurricane-associated storm intensity and rainfall rates are projected to increase as the climate continues to warm.

What I don't understand is why people still live there? Regardless of the "why" this is happening, the fact is, it happens over and over. Ocean levels are rising, and New Orleans is underwater (below sea level - at least I believe this to be true)...

If your city will continue to flood and ruin your home and community every few years, what in the world are people still doing there?

Not to bring up this old thing again, but a good definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results.

It's hard to have pity on people who know for a fact that this is going to happen, but choose to let it again and again. The first time, yes, I'll do everything I can to help. The second time, I'd help out because it is so traumatic to have it happen again. But after #2, you've made your own bed. Sorry, not sorry (coming from a bleeding heart liberal)

Yes it is a question I ask as well, They should IMO not allow new building in New Orleans.. It should slowly be closed up because it's going to go under at some point..

The problem is, you can also find serious reason that people shouldn't live anywhere... Much of FL will be underwater, New York as well.. Cali is the next baig one away.. Not to mention the fires every year. Nevada will be out of water at some point so will New Mexico.. It floods in countless states look at Nebraska just a few months ago, PA & IL before that.. Tornadoes out west.. Hurricanes ion the gulf & east coasts..

So where is safe with out problems?

Ever read about the history of new orleans? The politics of Louisiana as a whole?

A lot of them folks cant afford or have any means to leave. Most of the ones that could, left to Houston and Atlanta etc when Katrina hit.

I'm just concerned about human added pollutants especially those that we know are toxic but still release into our world, often in vast quantities.

Human habits need to change and change fast from this plastic disposable world that we've become.

It doesn't matter where you live, or if your left or right, the pollution where you live will be at least twice as bad in 50 years if the next generation live as we do.

It took over 200,000 years of human history for the world's population to reach 1 billion, we reached one billion for the first time in 1804, we reached two billion in 1927, but it took only 33 years to rise by another billion people, reaching three billion in 1960...

According to current projections, the global population will reach eight billion by 2024, and is likely to reach around nine billion by 2042. 18 years.

Governments of the world need to change their populations habits and change them fast or we're fucked as a species.

A "one child" policy sure would help.

Money is the root of all evil.. We need better education and a non-religious spiritual awakening
