Either way there are lots of places that are better than London and a few places in London that are nice.

Then visit the Historical places and then leave London. Some great places to visit outside the city. Suffolk, West Country, Scotland, Wales. Just steer clear of big cities.

very true mom. however it's difficult for me to partake in Schadenfreude.

He made the silly mistake of taking a handful of people and then saying they were all like that. I can do the same with Germans.

1) A few on holiday come down to the pool to throw their towels over the sun loungers, so all Germans do that.

On the other hand I linked my story to articles showing a problem where gypsies as a race have failed to integrate in many places, I'm right. He's wrong.

I grew up in Croydon, and can vouch that it's a shithole.

I left England in 1981 after I realized my hometown--London--was an awful place to live, and full of awful people. The few times I've been back since then has only confirmed my conclusion that London/England are awful places to live, and that English people are still awful. And every time I visited I was told how much better the food had become, only to find it was still as awful as I remember (my father was Italian, and a great cook, so the food I ate at home was always very good).

Oh, and the weather is awful too. Few things give me more pleasure than complaining to Brits that here in Los Angeles I have to suffer through more than 300 days of sunshine a year.
